Rossignol Warrantee Policy

May have been able to search bar this but didnt even know where to begin so here goes

I got the 2012 scratch for christmas last year and put about 30 days on them and they have completely deteriorated. I counted something like 14 edge cracks, the base is ripping out, 2 edge tear outs. It is literally unbelievable how fucked these are for how little theyve been skied.

To put this in perspective I have 07-08 t halls that I skied for the better part of 4 seasons or about 150 days + many urban missions. The skis are rockered as shit and beat to hell but only have about 4 edge cracks, and no other damage.

I have read things about how rossignol doesnt like to warrantee anything from "rail damage" or other impact but their website markets the ski as a "jib" ski. The quality is so far inferior to Armada I just cant believe I would have any issue getting them warranteed. I dont want to get them dismounted and pay to ship them back until I have an idea of how Rossignol is going to deal with this.


Does anyone have experience dealing with this sort of thing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys

They won't do anything. As soon as you're skis touch anything besides snow the warranty is canceled.

yeah thats exactly what ive heard but i dont understand how the ski is marketed for that exact thing, fall apart like nothing ive ever seen, and the company can claim its not their fault.

It sucks, but if people could warranty a park ski for rail damage then no one would have to buy new skis ever again.

If you only had them for 30 days talk to rossi. If they give you BS, but from Backcountry.com next time. Full refunds, Lifetime of product.

Nothing in the description of the scratch says anything about rails.

^I swear they changed the description because at the end of the season i looked and it said something about being the ideal ski for "boxes jibs and more"

and eheath i really hope youre kidding because ive owned many skis in my life and never seen a pair self destruct as badly as these. for 500 dollars i should be able to get at least a season, not 15 days before they start falling apart and 30 by the time theyre unridable

this is the only pic i have from the end of last year. i dont have the skis with me right now

but as you can see there is about an 8 inch section where the base is completely detached and peeling back, little tear out, and there are many more sections that would soon fall apart.

never once hit urban, we literally didnt get an inch of snow in burlington last year

dude that's not even that bad. just fix them and keep skiing on them.

it's true that those look more beat up than usual after 30 days, but shit like edges ripping out can happen at any time. I have dented in an edge of a brand new pair of skis.

I don't think they are gonna warranty that unless they are delaminating.

OP, are you in Burlington Vermont?

If so, take them into the Skirack. They are an authorized Rossi dealer and can assess the situation for you and let you know what to expect. Unfortunately, any opinions from NS members on here won't count for anything, you need to take them to a Rossi dealer and they will handle it from there.

Judging from the pics, you have lots of impact damage and once a company sees that your warranty is void. But, take them and ask them what your options are. Sometimes a full warranty is off the table, but a "crash replacement" might be an option for you.

Delams are a pretty different issue to edge cracks. It's pretty cut and dry when figuring out what caused the edge damage.

IIRC when line first started they warrantied edge damage, but quickly realized it was not financially feasible.

Some companies are super legit, like if you have edge damage from rails and suddenly the ski delams they will warranty it because delam generally = manufacturing fault, even though you've damaged an unrelated part of the ski.

But you basically spent 30 days smacking your skis, made of wood and plastic, against metal bars, and you think it's Rossignols fault that they fell apart at the exact part you were slamming on?

if the de lamination is related to the impact damage from rails you are up shit creek sorry to say. people come into our shop all the time complaining how the ski "just fell apart" and demanding that they get their money back... but when theres a fat dent, a cracked edge, and the delam is right beside it its pretty obvious what happened. i would recommend buying skis with fatter edges next time just because theyre harder to crack and easier to fix, thats just my 2 cents
