I need Finance help on my Excel project. I'm trying to set up a function on Excel to help find the price of a stock at period "insert period #".

Say your given this:
Discount rate: 9%
Dividend paid at 0: $1.50
Constant Growth Rate: 5%


this has to be for Excel. PM if you have an answer! +10/10k if its right

Chicken I need your physics nerdiness to help me with Hydrostatic force on a plate in calculus!

You have a with 4 equal sides of length a submerged in water so that the corner is at the surface of the water. How the fuck do you do hydrostatic force on that shit?

it's been awhile since I have done this but I am getting an answer of

F=-(2pga^3)/3

where p is the density and g is acceleration due to gravity on earths surface, both taken to be constant parameters in my calculation. note that you could also use a weight density and then it would be

F=-(2wa^3)/3

if this is correct I can explain it, if not I'll take a better look at it.

as far as I can tell this is a basic single variable calculus problem, since the force only depends on depth. Also obviously this is for the force acting on just one side of the plate, the net force will be zero (the plate will not accelerate horizontally in a static body of water).

So I couldn't do this problem (basic geometry, but even my teacher couldn't figure it out).

The answer in the back of the book is m=84 degrees, but it's perplexing me on how to get there. I work through it and come out with answers that do not work. I need to write a detailed explanation of the steps, so any help given will need to be explained to a degree. Thanks guys!!

What makes it worse is that it's not drawn to scale. Cause theres no way that Angle Q is 42 degrees in that picutre. But I'll keep looking it over.

I got it so that 'a' in 48 degrees, but that would make N an obtuse angle, which doesn't work with the diagram.

I mistyped. little m is actually 'M' so it's angle M=84 degrees. That's not in the given though, and I can't use it to solve.

The only way the math works out is if you assume the angles in the middle are 90 degrees, which I don't think they are haha.

Anyway...

angle Q (42) + middle angle (assumed 90) + angle b = 180. Angle b = 48

2b + angle MPN = 180. angle MPN = 180 - 96 = 84.

Angle Q + angle QPN (b + MPN) + angle a = 180

42 + 48 + 84 + a = 180. Angle a = 6

Angle a (6) + middle angle (assumed 90) + angle M = 180

180 - 96 = angle M = 84


...and as I'm typing all of this out I realized that if we're assuming the middle angles are each 90 degrees and QN bisects angle N, angle MPN and angle M would be equivalent, so you could just stop after like the second step. Pretty sure this doesn't even matter since the middle angles do not appear to be 90 degrees, but whatever. I'm bored.

The whole picture seems to be out of proportion and I can't find a possible solution without making assumptions like that.

My assumtions were that the 2 sides were parallel and that angle Q applied to just one of the two angles at that corner. That way its easy that 42x2=84 and angle M would follow because of the transversal rules or whatever teh hell they are called. (Its been 9 years since geometry for me...)

I looked at it for a solid 15 mins and couldn't figure it out. two grad students (one in physics, one in math) looked at it and haven't figured it out yet. is there some other assumption we get with this? or just the three the question gives? do points NPR all lie on a straight line?

I have to write my term paper about an article (that has to relate directly towards macro.), if youve looked at any good ones recently, and think they'd work, post um up.

I have a few, but I dont really like them at all, maybe someone has something better

More specifically-

The topic of the paper must be related to Macroeconomic issues covered in Econ
this semester. Remember that Macroeconomics deals with the economy as a whole so do not choose a topic restricted to an individual, a specific fi rm or sector of the economy.
Pick the topic that you like the most. Some examples are: monetary policy, taxes,
government expenditure, exchange rate, etc.

The article you are using must have been published after August 22th, 2012. NO AR-
TICLE published before that will be accepted (the paper will receive zero points)
 Look at reputable news sources (such as the Wall Street Journal, The Economist,
New York Times, etc) for articles
Look for articles that contain facts (such as the Federal Reserve raised interest
rates). The articles may discuss causes, consequences, etc of these facts. This
will make it much easier for you to do an economic analysis of the topic. You can
then write about what economic theory says about the issue, what happened in
the real world, and how the article handles the topic.

Points NPR are colinear, and RPM in an exterior angle for triangle PMN. The question is asking for angle M. Other than that and the other givens, there are no clues. I'm pretty sure it's an unreasonable question for 9th grade geometry, but idk. I'm gonna ask my teacher later and see what she says.

You have to use systems of equations to figure out one variable in order to get the rest. What I got is this:

(Using the interior angles of the dotted triangle - the whole thing.)
a+42=b
2b=measure of angle M+2a
You can get a+42=b because an exterior angle of a triangle (b) is congruent to the sum of the two remote interior angles (42 and a) You can set it equal to b because the exterior is the same as the interior

2(a+42)=measure of angle M+2a (substitution)
2a+84=measure of angle M+2a
84=measure of angle M (subtraction property of equality to get rid of the 2a's)

Sir you have your answer. I am very proud that I figured this out.
