Surface One Lifes as a fat park ski? +K for actual help.

Okay, so I get a discount on certain brands through my work. My current daily drivers are Bent Chetlers, even when the snow gets real shitty just because I hate narrow, traditional camber skis right now. I bought Switchblades last year, and I can't stand them after riding fatties for so long. I do want a park ski though, because I would hate to ruin my beloved Chetlers. I was looking at the Surface One Lifes just because they looked stiffer, come in a nice 189, and in the Powder Mag Buyer's Guide, Surface labeled them as All Mountain/Park. I just need to know if they will grip. I could give a fuck about topsheet durability and float. They will be a groomer/crud/park/shitty resort ski.

Oh, and I'm 6'1", 185lbs, and ride a DIN 10 for park.

People ski on them for park. It's not uncommon.

I've done it, and I'm your size. They're fun for rails, buttering, and jibbin, but I found that was about it. I felt a bit unstable on bigger jumps due to their rocker.

It's a fun ski to take out into the park from time to time (spring conditions), but I wouldn't designate it as your park ski

I'm not much of a park jump guy. Biggest jump I'll spin is a 20ish footer. I just fuck off on rails, and play around the mountain when there's no fresh snow.

bumping this, just bought some 179 one lifes basically as a park/fuck around ski, i guess ill at least see how it is in powder, but i mostly got it because it because it cost 250. from what ive seen/heard they seem to kill it in the park, the huge rocker and stiffish flex seem pretty ideal for big presses and butters and still having a decent platform for landings.

im still looking for a pair of pow skis this year too, was thinking new lifes, but maybe lab 001's now since ithe only reason i wanted new lifes over the lab was their more park friendly design.

anyone else using these for park skis? or other fat skis?

They are definitely much more user friendly that you would expect. Especially if your not really hitting lots of big jumps... And when the conditions turn to crud they pretty much just knife through everything but the chamber under foot still holds an edge.Foster Meeks rides them for everything... Look him up

When Surface started up they had issues with quality yes. But that was years and years ago. They got it sorted now though! Really cool company

care to like mini review them for park stuff? im still considering them for my new pow ski, and debating between them and the lab 001. only reason id choose the one life is if id use it in the park a lot, and the lab if i were mostly using it for powder.
