Ok, so after reading the countless comments about people loving their BG's, I've decided I'm going to pick up a pair asap, maybe even tomorrow. I'm 5'11" 175lbs. What size? 186 or 191? I love to shred everything but I spend most of my day in the trees. Are the 2013 BG 191 still nimble enough for the trees compared to the 186? BTW, I ski mainly Revelstoke, Kicking Horse and Fernie. Thanks!!!!

Caylor is the ski I'm on whenever there's more than 4 inches of snow, all day. BG is great for powder, tight trees to big bowls, hauling ass to bouncing off pillows - but the Caylor does all that as well, it'll just be a better option for people who are more used to jumping, spinning, and park skiing. I like having a more symmetrical, more center mounted ski for all my skis, and I think the Caylor does great in just about any soft snow conditions anywhere on the mountain.

^ i should clarify, the caylor and BG both kill the same conditions, but they are each just suited for slightly different styles. I think the BG is slightly more stable for charging the mountain overall.

Nice! Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely not much of a park guy but I definitely like throwing the odd 360 and other things off of small drops every now and then. I guess the BG would be better suited for me. So, 186 or 191? I'm leaning towards 191.

depends on how hard you ski. I'm 6'3 and 175, I like the 191 but part of that is because I stand so high over the tips... also because the caylor is more center mounted, which gives me shorter tips to begin with. The BG skis a little longer.

The Reverse Elliptical Sidecut that we build into the BG really helps with them being more nimble when you need it.

I would suggest you go with your gut feeling. I don't want to steer you in one direction and have you wish you went another way. What are you skiing on now?

I think the 191 is pretty nimble in the tree's for it's size. I have the 191, but I have also had older 186's and didn't feel like I was under gunned.

It's only 5 cm. I don't think it makes a huge difference either way. Scott has even said that they are pretty much interchangeable.

Congrats on choosing a man ski though. You will not regret it.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! So, it appears the dealers withing a few hours drive of me are all sold out of the BG's and Caylors in my desired size. If I ordered my new sticks tonight off of the website, what are the chances they'd be at my doorstep with time to mount before next friday when I head to the mountains few days? Shipping to Edmonton, AB.

To be honest, zero chance at all unless you paid for the high end shipping. Even if it was domestic, It probably wouldn't get there by friday. Considering its international, it will even take longer.

Just ordered the BG's 191 from a retail store in Kelowna who had them in stock. They're gonna ship em out to me. Be here Thursday. FUCK YES.....CANNOT WAIT!!!! Thanks for the help guys.

As previously said, quick review.

Love my BGs. Took them for all of break at Kicking Horse. Charged everyday, so quick and stable. Amazing float and nimbleness.
So on and so forth.

Also have been touring on them (mounted with Salomon Guardian 16s). Although the Tour layup would be lighter, I still love then for touring. Perfect for touring.

Only problem has been a tail split I noticed while I was deskinning (wasn't there to start).
Ski is in the shop right now being epoxied

I had mine shipped express got to spruce grove in about a week and since the season is in full swing most shops are pretty caught up on mounting skis but just say you need them done ASAP the reality of it is the bindings can be put on in under an hour

Epoxy should set that right, ouch. Wish the picture was more detailed, would like to have seen what happened.

We can ship anywhere that has an address, resort shops are usually down with accepting your skis before you arrive in our experience, best to call and check though.

You honestly can't see what happened at all...it's just split at the top sheet layer, just to the side of the clip for the skin (but not where it sits). No impact marks or anything.

It's not a big deal to me, and I'm not worried.
I talked to Trevor and told him I'd contact you guys directly (sorry for the post call out like thing ).
Still loving the skis. Can't wait to be back on them this weekend.

I finally broke out the Billy Goats today first tracks in 24 new inches of powder!  I had forgotten how insane these skis are.  What an epic day on epic skis!

Will the caylor be a practical east coast ski? Of course I plan on using this ski on pow days, but when there is no fresh snow I still might want to take it out when I don't feel like skiing park. Would the Jeffrey be a better choice?

I'd go with the Jeffery. They can handle pretty much anything the east coast can throw at them. The Caylor is a bit of an overkill ski for the east.

Personally, I'd lean more towards the 186 (5'10, roughly 130lb). But if it's going to be more of a all mountain ski on the East Coast, then it may be worth considering the 181.

Id go with the 181 at his height/weight. Especially if its meant for the EC.

Remember, ON3P measures to true length. a 181 Jeffrey is really like a 185 to line, armada, etc.

did a backflip on my jmos for the first time, really didnt even notice them being a little heavier than my park sticks and the jmos are super stable on landings!... it. was. fun.

Since this page is all about BGs, here's my latest purchase. 186 billy goats with jesters for $150. They're my favorite ski and among the best I've ridden. They're perfect for Jackson.

I'm 5'11" 180 and I can get some 186 jmos for cheap. The biggest I've skied is a 179. Would that size be alright if I got used to it? I ski domains right now

Yes, and now that I'm not on my phone I can easily type more, I still cant use touchscreens too well.

I'm your size, and I'd be ripping 186's for all mountain. I'd mount it at recommended for this (not just because I'm speaking as the manufacturer - it really does ride best a few cm back), but if you're just skiing park, dead center that ski to even it out, should help put you in a more balanced area for spinning. If your needs are park only, a 181 will be easier for you to spin and throw around, but hey, if you can find a pair of 186's for sale used, I'd snap them up, rare that I see any of our skis hit sell trade.

I really want Jeffreys sooooo bad but I have to buy skis, boots, bindings, and poles next year. I am saving every dime. I'm thinking about writing ON3P or jeffrey on my lawnmower to inspire me. Probably going to have to get a job too. I'm even signed up for my high school's "career connection" class this semester. Does anyone have any tips on how to save money when buying all this equipment?
