So i was riding a mountain in northern michigan today, and it was gaper city. Im shreddin my brand new jeffreys (which i love) and see some dude rocking 11/12 Jeffreys! Out west this wouldnt be a big deal, but to see someone shredding ON3P in michigan (especially a pow ski) is a rare sight. He isnt even on NS. Glad ON3P is spreading to everyone else!

Rode my jmos all day today! Really liking them!! Great in soft snow!! And finally getting in the air on them... There was 4 guys including me and my friend at cannon mountain in NH today with on3ps!

With the elliptical side cut I would really recommend mounting at the recommended mount point. The on3p guys have it dialed

I'm not an expert on the topic, but a parabolic sidecut is not the same thing as an elliptic one. An elliptic sidecut means that the cut is symmetrical, a 'true' oval shape; whereas most parabolic skis' sidecuts do not have that property since they are more directional.

That looks like several other skis that we see come back. The core doesn't snap, but the fibreglass / topsheet does. If he snapped the core as well, I applaud him!

Been skiing on the Jmos for a few days and I LOVE them. such a fun ski and charge through east coast snow

shit, they are 11-12's. Oh well, ON3P definitely makes good shit!

Not true, there are directional elliptical sidecuts as well as symmetrical ones. A standard parabolic sidecut is a section of a circle and so when laid on edge it will only make one radius turn. An elliptical sidecut is a section of an ellipse and therefore has a tighter radius in the tip and tail than underfoot, which allows it to make long gs style turns with a low edge angle and short slalom type turns at high edge angle

my situation:

i ski mostly resort conditions, charging and carving groomers, popping/jibbing off of natural features, steeper bowls, all mountain kind of skiing. I ski pow when i can (but that is rare), and very rarely go into the park.

I was thinking jeffreys originally (for their all mtn poppy/jib marketing), but I'm worried that they won't hold up when i start to charge, and will be too floppy on steeper, faster, or even icey conditions.

Are they ok for that? or should i look at something more like the vicik or wrenagades?

I'm 6'3" 220lbs.

Im the same size and have been considering the Jeffrey but have also been looking at the Wrenagde as I ski in Europe and we have a lot of crud and blower / frozen and tougher groomers to deal with, Im considering them as im used to a GS style chagrining skis ive topped +70 mph on open runs in the past as im quite a big chap.

The wren and Vicik are half twins, if Jibbing is important I'd stick with the Jeffrey, it's stiff enough to really rail, 186 for sure. Wrens would be a stiffer ski and be a bit more stable and charge friendly, but I wouldn't call them 'jibby'...

And this is where I'd point someone to a Wren over a Jeffrey. Tough conditions, high speeds, balls to the walls GS turns in one direction only - down.

How are jeronimos compared to Jeffreys? Im looking for a ski that i can just bum around and haul ass on. I like flying on groomers and taking a few runs through the park. I think the FR's are gonna be a little thin for an all mtn ski, yet Jeffreys a little wide for the michigan hills.

Sorry for the dub post, but I like how the Wrens sound, but they are still a little wide for my likings. I would be keeping the Jeffrey for out west trips and for pow days, while having a daily driver.

the jmos charge, they go very fast haha, not really chattering at high speeds but the tips are loud, but it really doesnt do anything, they hold there edge super well and you can make huge gs turns or tight slalom turns depending on how much you engage the ski, iv found they rip in crud and soft snow too, and are really stable in the air, although i havnt taken them off big jumps yet, they do seems to really work my shins/legs on the landings being a little fatter and stiffer, but overall a super solid all mountain ski! cant go wrong with the jmo

Thanks! They sound very similar to the Jeffrey, which i guess is good. Maybe ill wait to see whats in store for next season. Im to busy loving the jeffreys right now. Wish i could get out west though

Just had my first day on my 191 caylors (mounted at rec. with 916s) and I can honestly say they are the best ski I have ridden in my entire life. Granted, they're not 2013s, they're 2010 caylors (bought used), but nonetheless they were just flawless. They had all the attributes that I liked about my old hellbents (playfulness, manuverability, full floatation), but EVERY SINGLE one of the downsides of the hellbents (lack of stability at speed, getting bucked in chop, the feeling of plowing through deep snow slowing you down, etc.) was fixed. I felt like I was riding a pair of fucking monster trucks that could plow over anything and planed perfectly on top of deep snow and felt completely stable at mach looney. For any washingtonians out there, I straightlined from about halfway up the silver king at crystal and they just felt rock solid. They BEGGED to be skied fast, which was one thing the hellbents surely didn't. They're also the stompiest skis I've ever ridden. Super confidence-inspiring for sure. I skied lines I've skied before twice as fast as I've ever skied them, and skied lines I haven't skied before twice as fast as I would have dared on my hellbents, changing from foot-deep week-old powder in some spots to dust on crust to straight up chunder and mank without missing a beat. Also SO durable; I hit some big exposed rocks going faster than I should have and haven't even found a base gouge. To the On3p crew: I applaud you on your magnificent creation. Hands down the most fun I've ever had on a pair of skis. I can't wait to ski them once we get a really big dump. Fuck I'm stoked on these skis. +1 future customer.
