It will feel shorter because of all that rocker. I'm sure most people could handle a 186 pillow fight unless your tiny.

this, if you are over say 5'8/135 pounds a 186 ski with that much rocker should be easy to handle.

1st day on the jeffreys today, super surprised how well the ripped on groomers and held and edge. Took some time getting used too but that's any new ski. Definitely recommend them!

Day 3 on my Billy Goats at Kicking Horse, and I can tell you that they charge steeps, blow through crud, rail groomers and stomp cliffs.

It's my new favourite ski. Ever.
And I think my friends are tired of hearing about it

Even though they came almost a week ago, I left them in the box and chucked them under the tree.

Am so stoked to say I am most possibly the only person in Australia with a pair of on3p caylors. And even more stoked that I got number 004. First 5 to be made !!

How do the Jeffery and the Renegade compare? I spend a lot of time in the side country but I also love to smash groomed runs, and when I say smash I mean in a GS style as ive topped 70+ mph on piste on my old GS style skis with ease and I weigh 95kgs, I know theres no such thing as a prefect on ski quiver but since I rep and travel a lot I can only usually take one set of skis with me and I do have to ski a lot of tracked out runs and wind blown off piste as I live in Europe.

2 COMPLETELY different skis. I have not ridden the Wrens yet, but from what I hear, they are meant for big mountain skiing at high speeds. Obviously, that doesnt mean that you need to be skiing spines at 70+ miles per hour, but I don't think they are very resort friendly. Jeffreys on the other hand, they rip everything. I have ridden mine a few times on just groomers and they kill it on everything. I can rail groomers with no speed limit without feeling sketchy. They shine in 5-13 inches of snow. People say if your going a decent speed, they can float to around 2 feet of snow.


How big are you? What type of skier?

From what you described, Im pretty sure the Jeffreys are up your alley way. If you ski a lot of pow, you might want to ante up for the Caylor. Very similar to the Jeffrey, but will be able to handle deeper snow. However, you may sacrifice a little bit of performance on the groomers.

Im 6'5 and 95kgs, ive got liberty morphics atm in 181 there my snow dome and plastic skis as i live in the uk but ive not got round to new alpine skis yet as i sold last years on, but I totally overwhelm them on groomed runs however they deal with me in knee deep powder to a fair standard which has impressed me. Off piste I do like to charge a bit but im not that confident in deep deep stuff yet but I ride side country more than anything. But as I live in Europe they need to deal with groomers and spring slush and crud as I ski over the whole year due to repping ski trips.

Posting to say my dad loved the two days he got on his BGs before fracturing his fibula riding them sunday (witnesses at the scene state he did not scream 'MY ANKLE IS BROKENZ' or any similar derivative, he did however proceed to ski down the entire mountain).
I suspect his Viciks will be seeing a lot less love this year.

I want to mix this thread up a bit to thank all of the crew at ON3P for all of the hard work and love they put into each and every ski, year after year! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and are getting some good turns in.

You, ON3P Skis, make the absolute best skis I have ever ridden, and it keeps me coming back year after year. I just wanted to give you guys a little love on the internet today, but I will be sending some beer to the warehouse this week/next week, so keep an eye out for that.

For what it's worth to whoever else is reading this, I am not affiliated with ON3P in any way other than being an extremely loyal customer. I've been riding ON3P's exclusively since selling my 195 Rossignol Super 7's for some 09/10 191 Wren's and I haven't looked back since. They, ON3P Skis, put out the best skis on the market in my opinion, and have an awesome crew of guys busting ass to make it happen.

Still loving the Caylors. You'd never guess the number of early season days they've seen from looking at the bases, those things are solid. Until I get money to place my roxys the caylors will likely remain my 'all but the rock solid days' ski.

The Caylor skis switch well, the Billy Goat would rather not. Think of the Caylor as a big chefs knife, it'll go through nearly everything and is so versatile you'll always want it by your side. The BG has been a bit of a fillet knife in years past, pretty specific in its intended use, but the 12/13 shape with the refined RES has made it more of a ginsu knife or something, haha.

Both are a blast in soft snow, it's really the switch capabilities of the Caylor that separates them the most. If you're not gonna use that big tail, lose it and go BG and get all the benefits the taper and pintail gives to agility and maneuverability.

Yep. The only two reasons if advise the Caylor over the BG beyond this reason would be:

1 - You only like skis with a near center to centered mount (-5cm to 0 from dead center)

2 - you want something more like a broadsword instead of a katana for slaying pow

That's really what it comes down to. You can still send tricks on the BG too, they just are intended to ski forwards in pow and not switch.

So yesterday was my first day on my jmos and it was the most fun I've ever had on a mountain. There is some topsheet chipping, but that's normal isn't it?

I haven't taken them into the park yet but I have a n00b question. Will rails destroy my skis? I want to be able to continue using them all over the mountain but I desperately want to hit rails. I assume I'll be ok but I want to make sure.

there is a mark on the sidewall of every ON3P ski. This mark is measured and stamped in to the material after all is said and done. Mount there. ON3P's mount point is super dialed IMO. And with a ski like the BG with the RES from boot center forward I would imagine that the mount is REAL specific.

I went with recommended, and I think it's about -10 from true centre. But holy man, recommended is on point. Don't think I'd want it any further forward.

Top sheet delam is pretty normal on all skis. Rails wont kill your skis. If your banging your skis a bunch, then your going to notice damage from rails. Dont use them for urban if you have an intent of keeping them fresh. Rails will cause damage over time on any ski. Just be cautious and dont treat them like shit

My apologies for the double post, but should I detune? I live on the east coast so if I'm not riding on ice I'm usually on pretty hard snow and I want to be able to grip. Also, after a ski's been detuned you can tune it again, right?

dulling the edges underfoot will help decrease the damage they get from sliding rails and you'll still have plenty of grip on hardpack. and you are correct, you will be able to sharpen you're edges again.

Not a callout, just a correction.

Also the wrens are not scary. They are not only huge big mtn ak chargers. They are very fun around the resort, super stable with no speed limit. Just for going mach speed all day.

I am kind of curious about something figure this is a good place to ask.
How do the BG's compare to the 4frnt renegades? I absolutely love my rens and find them on my feet more often than not. It seems like they are pretty comparable skis in what they are made to do, how they ski, etc.. Anyone have some time on both skis and can give me some good advice? I am only asking because the rens are slowly reaching retirement and I just want to see if there is anything else out there that skis like them or if I should just buy another pair of rens.

Just picked up a pair of 186 jefferys and cannot describe how stoked I am to get them mounted.

Any ideas where to mount em if Im using them as an all mountain jib ski? Thinking 2 cm back but the recomended point is more like 4 cm; which really seems like a lot these days
