Dude, sorry we missed this one.

I'm glad you hit me up on facebook the other day because I didn't see this.

Basically, we have had a really bad time with the hat order. Hopefully everything will be worked out soon, but until then the timeline has been totally buggered. Really sorry for the delay, trust us, we were counting on stuff for before the holidays as well.

Is the indent on the side of the jmos recommended? I remember seeing the answer a couple pages back but I can't find it.

Also, where should I get mine mounted? I'll probably be riding 50% park 50% everywhere else.

Yes, the indent mark on the inside edge of each ski is the recommended mounting point. That being said, I can't offer you any advice as to where to mount them for your personal riding. If it were me, I'd go about -1.5.

I've only run into a few people with ON3P's at the areas I frequent, but I do enjoy seeing more around.

Best day was at Baker this past March when I was on my Pillowfights; spotting two other guys on Pillowfights and another on Caylors. That was in the span of about 1 minute while getting on a chair.

I love seeing these skis taking over the mountains.

I suppose there's some bias here, but today was another one of those days where I got done and thought, "Damn, these skis legitimately made my day way more fun." That never happened until I skied on ON3Ps, and it's a feeling in a class by itself.

Here's to Jefferys crushing two feet of pow.

I had the same feeling on my FRs today. Bulletproof at killy, still had a blast...can't carve it, fine press it, haha. I do wish I had 2 feet of pow for my Jefferys to play in...but I rode Jmos yesterday, and my FRs today, anytime I'm on any of the ON3Ps I'm having a blast, and having options is awesome.

How do Caylor's or Jefferey's compare to 4FRNT CRJ's? I noticed that there are almost no camber on all ON3P skis... How does that affect the skis' performance?

The Jeffrey is a more similar ski. The CRJ is a little softer (or at least was last season) and designed to be a little more directional (more like our Billy Goat... but still pretty different). The Caylor and Jeffrey are meant for not only ripping forwards, but spinning and landing / riding switch in deeper snow. The Jeffrey was actually designed by our team to be a booter / powder freestyle ski.

The Jeffrey also has elliptical sidecut. Basically it's straighter underfoot and more curved towards the tip and tails, this allows the ski to track straight a lot easier than a traditional sidecut ski, which will want to engage the sidecut faster. However, as soon as you tip it on edge, it carves just like any other ski, and in fact will slowly make a tighter radius turn as you tip into it more. ellipsis are used to round off all the sidecut differences - smoother transition between sidecut and taper than many other companies exhibit.

The camber issue is a function of the rocker design. Camber is meant to help evenly distribute the weight of the skier throughout the whole ski. Because of rocker, the contact area of the ski while riding flat is effectively shorter. There is the same degree of camber over a shorter length, which leads to the perception of less camber.

I've ridden various versions of Caylors, JMOS, Jeffreys, and protos as well as different versions of the Hellbent, JJ, and a variety of other skis that have rocker and camber combos, honestly don't notice whether a freeride ski has camber or not.

Personally, I don't think camber does anything for park skis and pow skis. You could set your average ski on a table and flex through the camber with your pinky, making the ski flat... I really don't think that miniscule bit of force that camber provides pushes back enough to effect pop or liveliness of your ride. I think it's all in perceptions based on marketing and what your core is made of.

Just to add on, I've got enough days on my 186 Jeffreys to start giving feedback. First days on them were pre season man made and ice, and finally got them in powder on sunday. They hold an edge like no other ski I've ridden. They also float incredibly well. I've flexed the CRJ, it is definitely a very similar ski to the 10/11 bentchetler. The jeffrey is stiffer than these two.

The diagrams on ON3P's website don't really give the camber/rocker profile justice because you can't blow it up to 186 CM... The jeffrey has a lot of camber, and a massive amount of rocker. I was actually a little surprised when I got them. Once the ski hits powder you can't tell it has camber...rocker, most definitely.

Honestly try and demo a few pairs. I don't know how you are able to, but do it. I have a 2 ski quiver (Line Step Ups and Jeffrey), and I should have been on my park skis 17/18 days I've been skiing this season. Since my first day on the Jeffreys I haven't been off of them.

I think there is a concensus that lots of camber in a pow ski is a negative thing, though a little helps with the energy in any ski.

I don't think that laying a ski flat and pushing it with your pinky REALLY is telling of how much camber plays in to the whole dynamic. It'd like flexing a ski with splay in the tip and tails on the floor. When you do that you're feeling the flex of the tip or tail, and not the ski as a whole. And certainly not how stiff a ski really is between the contact points.

Of course if you are on a flat groomer a tiny bit of camber is not really going to make a difference. But getting in to bumped up snow there is clearly some benefit to having camber.

I think there is a huge difference in how dynamic the range from the Caylor down to the J-mo ski, obviously waist width plays a role, but the J-mo(96 waist) carries way more energy out of a turn on groomed snow than the Caylor. Though still a ton of fun on the groom, the Caylor is way more lumbering in it's approach.

I really wtb the FR's as soon as possible.

I'm 6'3" 220, and this will be my new park specific ski.

Am i ok with 181's or do i really need the 186's?

Reason i'm asking is cuz the 86's are sold out and i'm looking to get them soon

I'd go 186's if I were you just for the added stability given your height/weight. If you are skiing rails only and no jumps, you could probably get away with the 181's, but again, I would definitely choose the 186's in your situation.
