Wide skis in the midwest

Honestly, 108 is not that wide anymore by todays standards....there are tons of park skis in the high 80s/low-mid90s range and tons of powder skis in the 120-130 range....so I'd say 108 is actually a mid to mid-wide ski. That being said, I have a pair of ON3P Jefferys (last years 108 underfoot) that I ride sometimes on the East Coast and they are a ton of fun. It really depends on what you plan to do with them. If you plan on skiing them in the park, that might be a little ridiculous, but skiing all-mountain with them is a blast, and then if a miracle happens and you get dumped on with snow, you're ready to go while everyone else looks dumb, haha. I have gotten some weird looks while riding them cause they are a bit much for where I ride most of the time (I really bought them for my trips to Utah, but I like riding them so much I ride them in CT sometimes too)...but I don't care cause I'm having a blast.

How much ice do you encounter on those skis and how do they rode in it

Umm...I didn't really have too much ice the days I rode them, but when I did hit patches they were actually quite fine considering.

OP I say it depends on what your using it for. A 108 for around the mountain wouldn't be bad at all. It would maybe be over kill in the park.

Post up more info and people will throw some info at ya. Size, ability, locations, what your using it on, soft vs stiff, ect.

I'm a level 3 skier I teach and I ski park probably 50% all mountain 50%jibbing looking at the line sfb

Last year Salomon 22: saw it in the park alot. Looks dope. People saying it shreds groomers and slays rails. priced reduce from last years which is nice.

It depends on what you want, if you don't really care to progress as much as you can, by all means go with a fatter ski. The cons are it won't be as quick. It will be a lot slower edge to edge, a ton heavier in comparison to a ski of 80-90 mm skis. If you really only do jibs, and you aren't very proficient, it may be hard to try new tricks such as spins on/off and switch ups, it depends on if you are really looking to progress. You also have to be stronger to throw them around, just my two cents.
