Weight of marker griffon vs jester vs jester pro

Hey guys, me again wondering about bindings. I want to have a sick light setup. Just got the 2013 chronics. Anyone know the weight comparison for each. I'm pretty sure I'm gunna get the 2012 Hester pros for a good price. But I don't want them to be quite a bit heavier than the griffons. Will I even notice it?

Probably not. Looks like the Jesters are only about 200 grams/pair heavier. Which works out to be 0.2 lbs more per ski. I'm actually looking at getting the same setup. Chrons look sick.

The weight difference isn't huge and you probably won't notice. But if you're coming off Griffons you may need to ask yourself do you really need Jester Pros? Weight, Height, Skiing Ability would all help us

I know i don't need anywhere near the din of 18 for the pros. But I have a good deal lines up for jester pros in great condition for 180. Not that looks are everything, but they contrast the skis well. So if it's not a difference in weight I'd go with the jesters, I just dont want to add alot more weight to just an awesome ski

How much do you weigh as the jester pros din range is from 8-18 so if you dont weigh much or usually ride a din of between 8-12 dont get the jester pros. Although a binding works for the entire din range most decent shops or sound sales people (ie not out for the biggest comission but acctually for the riders best option) will reccomend you dont ride on a binding in the bottom or top of the din range. This doesnt mean you should crank it up to 14 just not to be riding on the bottom of the scale. Buy a binding which has an appropriate din range for your height, weight ability and bsl.

A heavy binding won't cause as much weight as heavy skis, I'm sure you won't notice the weight

And what's the risk of riding the 18 din jester at a 12 din?

None, a lot of people heavily recommend against riding within 2 of the max/min but not 4.

if 12 is your regular din getting a 18 din binding will be a little overkill on the range but there is no risk its more if you were riding it at 8-10 or 16-18 (unless you really need it there) it has been said to be an issue with how consistently ir releases but from what i've seen and heard its one of those things that possibly in bindings of the past it might have been an issue but its kind of turned into one of those old wives tales things which people avoid doing. in all honesty i value the health of my knees and legs more than the money i could save on any binding
