Volkl Step 171 or 179?

So I'm just below 6'0 (182 cm), weigh around 165 lb. Earlier this year I took the Volkl Step 171 for a spin and it was awesome - super light and stable - felt like I had nothing on my feet. But I'm thinking that I should be looking at the 179 because of my height?!?

The Step has tip and tail rocker, but it looks like a cambered ski when on the ground. I had it side by side next to an Armada Alpha and AR7, and its contact points were way forward like the AR7. Definitely more ski than the Alpha.

So what do you think, 171 or 179? I don't do rails or jibs, just jumps/kickers/spines etc.
I've got other skis for pow.

179 for sure. The little bit of extra length you will love even more. They make the skis feel more "natural" at your size and height

179 no question. If it was non-rockerd you could maybe go 171 but it's not. 179 is better for your size.
