I recently went into my local ski shop to check out this years skis and starting talking with one of the main employees there and we got onto the topic of waxing. He was telling me that hot waxing skis more then once a year is bad because it burns the bases and covers the pours on the base and it is bad. I thought waxing was supposed to cover the pours of the base. Is any of this information true? should I stop hot waxing my skis as often and only do it once or twice a year? Thanks for sorting this out for me.
