New to these wide pow skis

So ive been looking at some deals and I have come across 2 options within my budget. I want to have a ski that can handle the back for when i go cat skiing and when i want to go crazy on groomers and maybe a bit of park. I am 6'4" 160lbs. I found skis within the length that i want to be stable yet playful. 194 Surface New Life and 189 Hellbents. I plan on skiing semi-deep to deep with hitting bc booters and cliffs.

Sick in pow and rails groomers? You want the 196 Bibby Pro (called the Governor for 12/13 season). Get them here for $499 which is likely the lowest you'll see anywhere.

i totally fucking would jump on those. i just want to devote my next paycheck of $376 from target (part-time blows) directly to skis

of those two, new life. much stiffer and will hold much better on groomers. there are better options out there but on a budget they are a good choice.

if you're on that budget, try posting a WTB thread on TGR.
Describe roughly what you want, and your budget.
There are tons of pow skis, most in pretty good shape, that go for pretty cheap on TGR

i appreciate the help guys. Ill check out tgr and craigslist for used gear. I was just interested in these since of their price and being new

Many people dont give the K2 obsethed the credit it deserves but i rode it last season and it would take those skis over any other ski. It is 117 under foot so it is obviously a powder all mountain ski, but withthe softer flex in the tips make it that much better in the pow. The stiffer camber allows it to preform fantastic on soft groomers but if you ever get into an icy situation then your fucked. It is a softer ski so it is very fun. I know your looking at different skis, but if you are on a budget you can get these skis for a fantastic price.

If you want a jibby powder ski try out the on3p caylors. even though youre 6'4 you wouldnt really want a longer ski, that is if you are using it for jibbing, or freestyle. but it would make good for freeskiing

i have a pair of the hellbents and they are amazing but they are quite soft and are abit hard to use on groomers, they seem to chatter alot, and can wash out easily in the park, but otherwise in pow they are insanely fun. If you want a fun pow ski over a stiff ski, the hellbent would be great, this is just my opinion on the hellbents and i have no idea what the new lifes are like

i dont understand the new lifes r 599 so wouldnt htey be out of your budget? if they arent there r plenty of other sick skis for that much or slightly more

they do, but when you are 6'4 a 181 Bacon(real length) is not going to cut it as a pow ski.
