I recently picked up some rock skis at a yard sale with just STH 14 toe pieces, and I have Marker Jester heels. Will I be able to use the sth toes and marker heels?
i am by no means reccomending this but yes it would work but the safety of this is questionable youd probly still release fine and everything but u only get 1 set of knees dont fuck em
Will it work in the sense that it will hold you foot onto the ski? Yes probably
Will it work in the sense that it releases as designed when required in order to protect you knees? No
There is a reason bindings are sold as a set. The release system is different on every binding. Since the setup you are taking about was not designed or tested it is impossible to know what may happen in a crash.
Bad idea for so many reasons, but one of them is called delta, the height difference between the heel and toe. Delta is more or less the same thing as ramp angle.
Each binding is designed with the toe at a certain height and the heel at a certain height, and this results (most of the time) with the heel higher than the toe, which is the delta/ramp angle. These 2 bindings are designed completely separately of one another and therefore with different deltas in place. To put your boot into that kind of arrangement is not worth the risk.
