what focal length are you looking for?
there are a whole lot of lenses out there. most people are gonna suggest the tamron 17-50 non vc model. its a great walk around lens.
basically if you want wider than that you will have to settle for a fisheye or drop the dough on a tokina 11-16.

im really looking for a good everyday walking around lens like you said. I would like a larger range for focal length so I could go close up and a little farther away. If anybody has one of those to sell im interested

18-135 for 300 barely used if you would like. The lens is worth 600 new.
