Replying to Where to ski in Japan

My parents decided that over this coming winter break we will be traveling to Japan. If anyone has been I would love some suggestions regarding where to go ski during late December. We are really hoping to find some incredible snow. My Mom doesn't ski and I'm not sure how much my dad plans on skiing either- so a mountain with at least some groomed trails would be nice as well as maybe a cool town that would be worth exploring if some people dont plan to ski. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if you've traveled in Japan before regardless if you were skiing, what are some places we have to go see?
