I just wanted to thank the guys over at Bloom and give them some props on the jacket I bought. I bought the Mintchip Jacket with their summer sale. I have yet to use it but I literally cannon wait. Such a sweet jacket. I tested out the 20k waterproofing and its that and more. Ran some water on it and it just rolled right off. The jacket is tall but not baggy like some. Im 5'10" rather athletic bulkyier build and got the Large. It fits perfectly and is just what I was looking for. The zippers are real smooth and taking the sleeves off/on is super easy. So excited to use this jacket up on the hill next year. As for the company, literally some of the best customer service I have ever had. Jim is probably the coolest, chillest, and nicest guy ever. He really helped me out. If you were looking to buy anything from them, I would HIGHLY suggest them if youre looking for new gear. Awesome gear and and awesome company, would for sure buy from them again.

the "took some water and ran it over it" test is slightly flawed. You can take a brand new t shirt and drip water down it and itll bead up and roll off. not discrediting their outerwear as i have never had any. just saying the dropping water on something brand new isnt a good test.

He did not say drip water, he said ran water. Try running water over your next new tshirt and see how that goes.

my mistake. i stand by my point though. nearly all brand new garments will bead water away. its after use when the water proofing shows how well it works. remember, im not doubting bloom. im just trying to say dont claim greatness from the first controlled test on anything.

If you think you can test the waterproofing of outerwear by running water over it, you should read this article, it's a fantastic explanation of outerwear science and best practices: http://blistergearreview.com/articles/outerwear-101

All you're doing by running water over the surface of the fabric is testing the efficacy of the DWR - you just bought the jacket, so of course it's still going to be great. The waterproof membrane inside isn't even seeing the moisture.

whatever. it has 20K waterproofing which is right under Gore-Tex. You could wear this in a storm and still be try. Its an awesome jacket either way.

pretty sure there's no gore-tex in bloom's outerwear.. and also the 20k rating would be from the gore-tex, not under it.

Real soon!

I am just about finished with the website. My fall semester at CU just started so that has been delaying the release of our new website. Additonally, our graphic designer who is finishing up the lookbook also just started his fall semester up at MCAD in Minnesota.

I can't give you guys an exact release date, but we are really really close! And trust me it will be worth the wait.

I also thought I should mention that our outerwear line arrives next month in October. If you place an order with us for some of our new outerwear, you should have it in your hands before November.

There isnt any gore-tex in their stuff, I was saying that in waterproof rating, 20K (which is what Bloom has) is rated right under Gore-tex. So it is very waterproof.

I took my Bloom pants and made a small lake with the knee area and let it sit for a while. The are that the water was on was completely dry after the water rolled off.

Soo much hype.

I bought a jacket last year and it was great. Loved the zip off sleeves because I ride mostly park. The jacket held up great and I'm looking forward to repping it this season.

Yes we had some issues with the new site. We're dropping everything this week so get pumped. We are offering 20% off on the first 40 orders as well. Outerwear arrives October 25th. We stepped it up big time.
