Yeah, I'm sick of the rhetoric passed around by the leaders about this.
They are fine with drugs like Oxycontin turning the nation's youth into heroin addicts because there's big money on both sides of that.
Marijuana? Nope.
Alcohol, Rx meds, all fine although they destroy lives daily. By the thousands in fact. But to self-medicatre with a non-harmful natural plant is punnishable by imprisonment and fines? Nice work retards.
Anyone who has a problem with marijuana really has a problem with themselves, or someone around them with an abusive or addictive personality. There is so little wrong in utilizing it for all it's redeeming qualities it boggles the mind to think how harmful the legal alternatives can be. /rant
How do you feel about opiates?
I find that a far more harmful, yet more widely distributed and HIGHLY addictive and harmful substance personally. One who looks at the overwhelming majority of actual evidence on the subject of marijuana could easily see that it has never- in it's thousands of years of use- directly caused a death. Hell, you can buy alcohol at any corner store, and that shit kills thousands upon thousands a year. Our benevolent government of course is fine with our judgement in that case, but not with a natural substance we can grow ourselves that has a far better track record of actual harm to the user. Tobacco is more addictive, alcohol is more dangerous, perscription meds are often more damaging to the liver and kidneys... I could go on, but I digress. It's sort of a lost cause, since the voice of the people is being ignored because nobody in govt. gives a shit what constituants have to say when there's lobbying money pouring in from elsewhere.
I hate to say it, but the joke is totally on us and I don't mean your post. Besides, just because it's fuckin' awesome as a recreational drug doesn't mean it doesn't have redeeming qualities as well.
