Urgent help needed: dead/hot pixels in footage

Just got the message from my friend I shot a wedding for last night: Three hot/dead pixels on my sensor. I have no idea what to do, can you even fix/replace a sensor? I have CPS Gold, so it'd be 30% off, but i'd assume it is pricy as balls. Anyone have experience with this? time to get a new camera? FUCKKKKKK

Well that's certainly a bitch. I've not heard of a way to fix that... but on the bright side, it's not that noticable...

My camera has hot pixels at higher ISOs that are not visible at lower ISOs. if you can't fix it right now, do a test, you may be able to keep that in mind until your camera gets fixed.

for fixing your current footage though, the only way i can think of going about fixing that would be to replace the pixel with a copy of the pixel next to it... but then again im tired and that probably makes no sense

and the manual cleaning fix works great, its what i have always used in the past for hot pixels

yeah, we've had to deal with dirty lenses/sensors/hot pixels from other cameras in the past, my friend has an awesome masking program for video that works wonders.

Definitely looking into a new camera soon though, this really scared the shit out of me.

I don't really get what the huge deal of a dead pixel is, they're easily removed in post and that video's solution is quite reliable. And they're usually unnoticeable anyway. Not trying to sound dickish but i just don't understand.

That's the thing, sometimes you can't rely on post to fix it, and it's much harder to fix in post on video work (what I've been doing). It is a pain in the ass to have to do it to hundreds of video clips, which equals more time editing/rendering on time sensitive projects. To some people they aren't noticeable, and some people they stand right out. I'm probably overreacting, but it's definitely an issue I don't want to deal with.

So I noticed my hot pixels in video (@3200ISO), and I think the cleaning trick worked. I have no idea if anyone knows this or not, but wouldn't those pixels still be visible in photos even if they were masked/remapped for video?

i am no expert, but i feel like if your sensor is damaged, those hot pixels should still exist in photos? have you tried taking any photos at 3200ISO to check?

I have, but my card reader is with my co-shooter who is transferring all of my footage to his computer. I don't have EOSutility on my desktop right now, might get it to shoot some tethered tests.

Also, anyone know a good way to get ~6k?

My roommate was quoted $650 for sensor repair for 2 dead pixels on his 5D. Not the end of the world if you have CPS gold.
