go to a shop and ask to try on boots before you buy them.

You don't need FT. You need a proper fitting boot! Go to a good bootfitter get sized and fitted. Get custom foot insert. 

Everybody on newschoolers is such a dick when it comes to boots. Obviously he is set on full tilt, but can't go to a store so help hie out. Ya I'm a size 9.5 in street and I'm going to get a 27.5 so you should probably try a 28

he is wondering the general consensus on their fit.....he wouldnt be asking this question. OP go to a shop and try on boots that will fit.

no we are trying to save other people from buying poorly fitting boots so they dont come here later and make another thread about how bad their shinbang is

also clearly you didnt get your boots fitted at all. 9.5 regular and a 27.5 boot? fuck thats a large boot. im a 10.5 regular and wear a 26.5 boot

You wear shoes that are way too big for you.

fuck my bad i checked and its actually 10. but i like my street shoes a bit looser and my ski boots are a preformance (tight) fit

Exactly. So if he wears a size 9.5 shoe that fits him properly then a 27.5 boot is not at all "large" for him. I wear a 8.5 shoe (that fits me properly, not loose) and fitted for a 26.5 boot.

^ All it showsit you cant use shoe size to size boots. I wear 10.5 shoes which fit me, but ski in a 26.5.

To OP unfortuntly you do need to go get fitted. You should never buy boots online, its just not worth it.

Yeah Im 9.5 shoe and I wear a 25.5. Fits like a glove. Were not trying to be dicks. Every single person has a different foot. Thats why OP should go see a Bootfitter. To get properly sized.

Here a situation.If OP just takes people advice (which Incredibly stupid, cause everyone's foot is differnt) and buy boots offline. Starts skiing in them and gets Pressure in the toe. If he doesn't know a bootfitter he's gonna come to NS and post thread about how his FT hurt. Then everyone's gonna tell him go to a bootfitter. Then he needs find a BootFitter. Finally finds a Bootfitter and goes there. Meets a BootFitter, explains whats going and the bootfitter is gonna roll his eyes cause he thinks OP is stupid like any other 12 year old who buys FT cause they look cool. The Bootfitter says he's gonna punch the boot out a little but takes a few days cause the bootfitters they are busy in winter. By the end OP loses like a week or two of skiing which sucks cause there's only 5 months of skiing.
 
Lets say OP does go to bootfitter but still buys online. Not a bad way to save money. But lets say OP get some unwanted pressure on the toe. All OP has to do is go to the BF, tell him whats up, gets boot punched or foot insert. Takes hour cause bootfitter knows him. Problem solved. Knowing a bootfitter ahead of time will save you skiing time and money.

This is why you go to a good bootfitter even if your not gonna buy from them. They may tell you narrow foot. Narrow foots need small last boots. Maybe your ankles stick out farther when flex into a turn. They can punch the side out a little.
If you do go to a BF with the intention of not buying tell them up front. 9/10 they wont care. They will most likely size you. If they do care and say get lost, screw them. They Probably suck at fitting boots.
I will say if you get fitted and don't buy anything, tip them a ten or give a 6 pack. It's just a nice thing to do for a fellow skier helping you out.

MY Point to OP and everyone else: See a bootfitter. They can properly size you and make recommendations because THEY ARE LOOKING AT YOUR FEET. No one here can make good recommendations cause were not looking at your feet. Even if your not buying they will size you at least.

Full Tilts are amazing I wear a 10.5 and was in a 28 for their regular 99 mm width boot, then downsized to a 27.5 and fell like it is a better fit for me. Cutom foot beds are not for everyone, I ski over 100 days a year and do not need one in my Full tilt, then again I dont have frankenstein feet

No, Custom footbeds are for everyone, thats the point they are custom made for you. Barly any one has a truley neutral foot, so I would say 99.9% of the population will benifit from a custom insole.

Full Tilts dont even have an insole so they need one more then any boot really.

Overall everyone is best off adding the price of a custom footbed into the purchase as chances are you will need one.
