I will be in attendance. 3rd year at UBC, its a great school.
Can't believe the amount of construction this year though.
All my longboard routes are blocked.

UBC gymnastics centre is open to drop ins on tuesday/thursday night I believe, they've got a website somewhere. $10 each time you go.
Varsity Outdoors Club if you like to do any backcountry stuff.
Ski and Board if you like to party haha.

Shit, I'm guessing there are tramps at the gymnastics centre? I'm definitely down for some sessions there! And definitely join the Ski and Board Club. This will be my third year as a member and trust me, they know how to fucking party. Is anyone else in Sauder? I'm a third year now. Just got back from our FROSH weeeknd. It was rowdy. Can't wait for the rail jam.

Yeah they only have one and there's no foam pit, just onto a big crash mat. But its fun.
Drop in starts on the 10th, mon/wed 8-10 pm.

There are other places that do drop-in but none near UBC that I know of.

Richmond is opening a new tramp place in october that looooks SICKKK! UBC is fun but gets WAY too busy in the fall like 10minute wait for the trampoline.

VOC is for long backcountry trips, mountaineering, climbing, etc. expect a lot of "fun type II". don't expect to ski gnar lines, but do expect to go far and get tired.

Ski n board is a huge party all the time, but a lot of those people ski all the time, so your party friends become your ski friends. Also this year we're starting up UBC freeride. it's still in the works, but take a look at the websiteubcfreeride.com That's gonna be a lot of fun.

Check us out at club days and get your shred on when the snow falls, until then, party on. Rail jam is partway through october, parties and general shenanigans all the time, and then trips in the fall... and of course you'll use our facebook page to find rides to whistler, and you'll meet tons of kids with cars who go to whis all the time. You can ski a whole lot—last year was my first year and I got 66 days, and I know kids who got 80-100 with full course loads.

seymour is also great for night shred after class—they have a cheap-ass pass if you buy it before the end of the month, and they're gonna have a high speed quad this year. they've got a sick park all year long too, so lots of kids go skiing after class. shouldn't be too hard to find rides.

obviously, get a whistler pass. it'd be silly not to.

What exactly are you planning to do with UBC Freeride? Is it a club or a team or what?

The "about" section of the website puts it pretty well:

With roots deep in the Ski and Board Club we’ve never taken ourselves too seriously and strive to showcase the abilities and lifestyle of UBC Ski and Board shredders to a broader audience through our web edits, contest results, and movie projects. Drop us a email if your interested in coming out to shred with the crew."

Last year was sort of a feeler year and it went pretty well, so this year we're taking it up a notch or two. Expect lots of Study Break edits, a movie project, tons of photos and blog posts, and general all-around stoke. I'm sure you'll see us at the rail jam in october
