But think of it this way, she probably knows that you are interested, but instead of full on in your face saying no which would end any relationship you had, she likes and respects you enough to want to keep you has a friend.

How long were did you have a 'thing' with this chick before the news broke? Cause most of the time the dude just takes too long and the chick moves on (to 'liking' another dude). By the time dude 1 comes around she doesnt feel that way about him anymore. Thats why you have to make your quick. Plus that way if she doesnt like you in the first place you havent lost too much time and havent gotten too attached to her if she denies you. Shit sucks OP, Ive been in your shoes plenty of times, but dont dwell on it. Drink a couple beers, write a song about it and move on.

tell her you're going on a trip for a year, then secretly move to another house in the neighbourhood, change your name, dye your hair, grow a moustache or beard and pretend to be a french exchange student or something, then once you've seduced her and have love-punched her pink box you'll most likely have realized how much of a burden/trouble women can be and you'll realize that life as a bachelor ain't half bad ! if however you do really like her, you can stage your own (french alias') death (be creative) and then return from your year long trip as yourself and approach her on your own funeral, she'll be emotionally vulnerable and that's your chance to shine and climb up out of the shadows of the friend zone!

That video was so perfect, there is no fucking friend-zone. If I like a guy enough to make being friends with him awkward for me I'll tell him, if he doesn't feel the same and I'm not okay with that I'll remove myself from the situation.
If I'm okay with talking to him and both of us know I have feelings for him but we can still get along then it's fine, you're friends. I don't go labelling it as me being in "the friend-zone".
