So it's pretty much September and I'm trying to decide the spot for the coming winter (and hopefully more thereafter). Basically, it's come down to living in Squaw city and skiing Squaw and Alpine or going South Lake and getting the Tahoe local pass. I've been to both on ski trips and to party but that said, I know a few powder days and nights here and there can be a lot different from getting a locals perspective.
So with that in mind, I'm hoping to throw it out to NS Tahoe locals and better understand the good and not-so-good points of both spots - during both winter and summer. How do they compare to each other from a locals view and how do they compare to other spots you've lived in or spent a good deal of time at - Mammoth, Breck, Vail, Telluride, Whistler, Jackson, Wanaka, Queenstown, etc, etc. More or less, what type of person would you put in North vs. South?
