2013 Line Influence 115 and 2013 Bent Chetler

 Has anyone been on either of these skis yet?!  I know they are two different skis, but ive read reviews on each and they both sound like pretty sick skis. are the carbon fibers in the BC actually reducing the chatter etc... also just some opinions on the influence? Im really digging the 115.

pow skis don't chatter in pow, which is where they're supposed to be ridden.

bennies are great, opus are great, almost every pow ski is great in good snow.

Thanks those were good Reviews, but has anyone here actually skied them?! Im looking for some more personal opinions +k!!!

Quite a few guys on here have probably skied the BentChetler, but for personal opinions on the Influence115, teton gravity might be a better place to look.

I have demoed both and it kind of breaks down to what kind of skiing you do to what you will prefer.

Influence 115:

Hard charging ski, it has a good amount of rocker in the front, and only a little in the tail, it is pretty damn stiff somewhere between fischer stiff and volkl stiff. They are great if you are gonna charge some steeps, trees, glades, drops etc. This ski because of it's stiffness is only really comfortable at high speed and is really not so much about playing around. It means business.

Bentchetler 186:

This ski is capable of charging and going just as hard as the 115 but with a couple major differences. It has a ton of tip and tail rocker, and is a good deal softer (similar to the salomon rocker 120) which makes it much more of a surfy, playful, swivelly ski. I personally like to play around in the snow, butter, slarve, slash etc. and this ski is built for that but also for some serious speed, drops, and kickers. It is built with the heart of a park ski.

The 192 is allot stiffer with the same profile and acts (for me being tiny and weighing little) much like the Influence 115 with a longer turn radius making it a bit tough to handle in the tight trees and narrow steeps.


so the question is all in how you ski. You like charging getting your giant g.s. turns in the steeps and banging through the crud go with the Influence 115. You like playing around, buttering, riding switch in pow, etc. go with the chetler.

Thanks this is very helpful! I do like to play around a little, or at least have the option to if im in an area to do so. Sounds like the Chetler might be a little better option. I'ts just pretty big, 123 underfoot vs 115... Do you know if the BC is stiffer than the Opus? I demoed the opus and it was just a little too soft for me which Is why I started looking at the Influence.

That's less than a centimeter of difference in waist width. People always overestimate the difference a few mm will make. For something like base flatness, a few mm makes a huge difference. For waist width, the jump from 115 to 123 is not that great. The main difference here is that the influence is going to be a lot more directional than the bent chetler. If you want a bidirectional playful pow jib ski get the bent chetler or the opus or something like that. If you want a directional charger get the influence 115 or the atlas or the automatic. It's all down to your personal skiing style from here.

Ill just add these to the long list of skis I want to demo this season haha. I do like to charge and do some back country (these will have touring bindings on them) But I also want to spin and jib around if the terrain calls for it. If it doesnt then I want to be able to charge. We'll see this winter what happens. Thanks for all the imput guys!
