Yes it's not only for cliffs and it is a good responsive binding. But so is the Rossi Axial 12, Marker griffon, Salomon STH 12, Tyrolia peak 13.
I'm not trying call you out or make make fun of you but sounds like you were coerced into buying it by a shop. The FKS is a killer binding. But its Super heavy duty binding thats really expensive.
Some shops are terrible people and try to push these super heavy duty bindings on people who don't need them. Here's I guide I found on bindings.
Professionals and amateur comp skiers (18 din)
180 and above LBS - Intermediate to expert park rider (14-16 din metal bindings)
120 - 180 LBS - advanced to expert park rider (14 din metal)
120 - 180 LBS - beginner to Advanced park rider (12 - 14 din plastic )
120 - 160 LBS - beginner park or relaxed park riders (12 din plastic)
I would consider an advanced park rider someone who hitting 30ft booters or bigger on a regular skiing basis.
But I dont know you. Maybe you are a super nasty EC park rider that needs a 14 din metal binding. I dont know. Im not you. Maybe you are hitting 30ft jumps throwing corks and I'm just not there to see them. Maybe your pushing the scale at 200lbs and need that metal in your binding.
But I do know that the FKS is a Heavy duty binding and if you were being pressured to buy it, you should maybe consider finding the guy who convinced you to buy it and beat them with a lead pipe for being a dick.
