well i tore my mcl yesterday doing some rails, pretty crapy shit but im only out for about 3-4 weeks (thank good)

haha, 3-4 weeks? I did mine at the end of last season, 5 months ago and it still isn't right..if it was a doctor that gave you the info then you def. didn't tear it the whole way..

i tore mine on aug 12. the doctor said i should be able to play soccer by about this time. i can run for a little while and im jsut starting excersizes. got to see a specialist as fast as possible. gp's just are trained enough

yah you definately didn't tear shit. my friend tore his playing football, he has a 9 month recovery. I tore some ligaments in my ankle also playing football and i had surgery (got like 6 screws and a sweet ass plate) and that was 4 weeks ago, im gonna be able to ski in mid-late december, so you're pretty lucky i guess but you didn't tear anything, theres no way

check it, facts:

MCLs typically heal themselves given enough time. mine was partially torn, healed in a few short weeks.
MCLs and meniscus's require surgical repair typically, and the recovery is long. long long.

It's very easy to make a simple typo and type MCL instead of ACL, which is what I assume he meant in the second case involving the meniscus and surgery.

dude, my neighbor, 30 somethin, doctor, nice guy overall, fell out of a barn loft a few weeks ago. ripped EVERY thing in his left knee, including tearing the attachment point for the ACL completly off. hes gonna be in and out of surgery for a year, and will be in rehab for another 3-4. and his knee will be fucked forever.

thats nothin. I tore my acl 3 and a half years ago and got it fixed, then ahd an infection and am havin a 3rd surgery next week.

don't know where you got your info brotha, but it will take longer. I 'sprained' my MCL last february and I couldn't even play basketball until May. I hate to break it to you, but you should expect at least 6 weeks minimum, especially if you don't want to ruin your knee for the rest of your life. Do what your physical therapy person says, dont push it

I diod the same thing last year at the same time if year. its the best time because its so early and u will have time to come back healthy for the season. good luck!

I'm just saying, don't get your hopes up...and def. don't try to ski earlier than your knee can handle, because that's when you start looking at long term injury if anything happens again. I would advise wearing a brace from now on too...
