You want to know how much the average senior citizen takes for prescription drugs? In 2005, it was 35 a senior. You want to know how much these drugs would cost 100% out of pocket? 48% more. Well if 16% of seniors live in poverty (7.2 million), and have to pay 48% percent more of the low-average cost of $3000+ an enrollee, you can bet that a decent amount will have a pretty hard time finding help. This doesn't even include those living near poverty (remember, this system helps a majority of elderly citizens with lower income...). If 100% of those low income seniors had family who'd be willing to help pay (and I bet a decent amount have nobody to turn to), you're only going to force more people into economic stress.

This for sure. I was watching this documentary about us and its presidential candidates and Obama thinks they way republicans would do in the 60's or 70's. He is seen as more conservative than democrats used to be. For some reason politics in the US has shifted over to being very conservative. They were saying people like Bush or or McCain would be considered to conservative for the republican party if we went back 40 or 50 years. Same would be true for Romney.

Unemplyment has gone up roughly 4% since obama took office, and it's actually gone down the past 2 years.

We dont count people on disability. When people run out of unemployment they go on disability. People can go on disability for things such as asma. The stats dont count illegals and people like me who gO to school and cant find work in the summer like me. The real unemployment is 15 - 20 % it could be said to have reached those levels in 2009-10

The complete de-valuation of the dollar is the biggest threat to America.... when (not IF) America's credit rating get's down graded... then all hell is going to break loose on a global scale. We haven't seen the worst of this economic shit show yet - not by a long stretch.

America currently pays CHINA $75 MILLION a DAY in interest payments on it's debt to the country.

This election should be about one thing, and one thing only...

Economy and getting rid of the national debt. There will be spending cuts - there has to be, and it won't be pretty. Raising taxes on 1% of rich folks won't do fuck all in dollar terms... you need to cut spending and balance the budget... more than balance a budget - you need toget back to making money again.

Worrying about who is to blame for this situation, or who did, didn't make it worse has fuck all to do with anything - that is the number #1 priority now because IT WILL ruin America in a way that makes Greece, Spain and Portugal look like nothing. Quantitative easing won't help either, it'll just lead to hyper inflation, again making the dollar worthless.

As for unemployed illegal immigrants, I'm surprised you care about them at all. And after all, by their nature they are undocumented workers, so the number is impossible to know.

Students are unlikely to get jobs in the first place compared to more qualified adult workers, and that is especially true in an economy with moderate job growth.
