I'm not one who likes reddit, at all. But this was pretty cool, worked well with their up/down vote system (when the site wasn't 503ing over the huge amount of traffic it generated)

Reddits already a liberal as fuck website. Had Romney tried to do an AMA each question would have been along the lines of "YOU HATE OLD PEOPLE AND I WONT VOTE FOR YOU"


All this AMA was for the libtards that already flood that site. If you dont believe me go to /r/politics on there. Its disgusting how biased the site is. 10,000s of liberal redditiors came at the idea of obama being on their site.

Out of the 25 posts on the front page of politics, 22 of them were anti-rightwing.
Of the remaining 3 posts, one is pro obama, one is a republican saying why he is voting for obama, and the last is a post saying people shouldn't criticize Obama for only answers 10 questions, none of which were anything constructive.

Its fucking repulsive.

No, the difference is there is a /r/politics /r/liberal and /r/conservative. Politics should be an equal place of discussion. If you mention anything rightwing in the "Political" subreddit you will be attacked.

Most of reddit has become this unfortunately. A few years back Reddit was more intelligible. If you stay with the smaller subreddits; members actually read the articles, write longer posts with support for there conclussion, use less slang, and are more open to what others have to say.

A large subreddit that still has this is /r/philosophy

This guy does a good analysis of reddit's progression

I remember ones where they were asking the "we want change" people what specific changes they hoped to see. Pretty brilliant when you're out in the street with a sign screaming we want change, but can't actually think of one positive change and how it will benefit the country.

I'm sorry, people tend to have different ideas of what hipsters are. For some, as I have learned recently, that may mean as little as someone who browses reddit. In my mind, a real hipster is well educated, most likely liberal, and lots of other things. I suppose that you may have interpreted "hipster" in some way other than I did, but when I think hipster, I think educated.

That does not go to say that ever Obama supporter is well educated, or that all those who do not support Obama are poorly educated.

At what point is money not 'self made'? Is there an objective point where it becomes not 'self made' or what ever term you prefer to use (I do not much on this topic, I am just applying normative ethics). We can be very inconsistent with how we apply certain labels. I just hope you can see that we often abuse terms to appeal to the viewership. Terrorism, organic, conservative/liberal, and holistic, are a few words we abuse quite a bit in our culture.

I also wanted to bump this thread because Gary Johnson is going to be doing an AMA one Sept 11. For those of you who don't know who he is check out his website: garyjohnson2012.com

In short Gary Johnson is a libertarian. His social views are extremely liberal (cannabis legalization, gay marriage, etc.), but his fiscal, domestic, and foreign policies are fairly conservative. He has a lot of good insight and his approach to any given issue is very analytical. He was an excellent governor and has my vote in the November election.
