Is Icelantic making boots now or is it just a collaboration? Any information would be appreciated!

after more digging i found the thread about these and the sia article with these pictures. sorry for the repost. but is anyone considering buying a pair? also does anyone know price information or when they'll be available?

man, i want those boots for no reason. I love my alpine boots and my AT boots do the job but it would be really nice to have one set do it all.

If they are made in America like their skis and they fit my foot i will most definitely get a pair

Is it me or does that look like a dalbello, ft and spk all in one boot? The reverse buckle, cable, then the drawstring tounge?

i agree. i think the drawstring tongue is good though. the black diamond tele boots are wonderful just because they have that snowboard-boot-like twisty thing for the laces. about time that alpine boots got that

these boots have been tried several times and they arent so good. pretty sure they they started as a raichle mould

Powder Mag has them in the Gear Preview, here's some info: Two different boots, the ST1 and ST2. The ST1 is softer with a flex of '6' and the ST2 has a flex of '8'. The ST1 is priced at $599 while the ST2 is priced at $649. They are a three piece boot with a walk capability, five forward lean options, 99mm last. Acctually made by the company "First Degree." In my opinion, I'd totally give the boot a try, 4 buckles and a booster strap, and 5 forward lean settings is a big selling point for me. The white ST1 looks bangin and it's name fits the look perfectly (ST2 is black) however, I don't ride pow at all and I don't tour, so I don't quit think this boot is for me. (but if it fit well, it would certainly be on my candidate list for boots)

well heres the thing. i'm thinking "first degree" is just what they're calling their boots section maybe? i mean it goes along with the whole icelantic theme and their symbol even has a little "1" and a degree sign in it. just my thoughts. so then do you think they are a custom made boot, not made by someone else and rebranded? and idk why all these boot companies are making walk mode boots. if you've ever owned a pair you'd know that its more of a gimick than anything. but i'm interested in maybe trying on a pair/buying some next spring for cheap

lulz, it's a rebranded riechle boot, that was rebranded for line 10 years ago... subsequently failed and is now being rebranded by icelantic. it was originally and oldschool AT boot, and was also used for snowboarders before the current boot binding snowboard set up.

So they must have bought out the molds. Who knows though, maybe they perform good, or will perform good with a few tweaks? Totally worth giving it a shot and "revisiting" this design though, I mean look where Full Tilt is now.

yeah but is it really that good of an idea to be doing that? slackcountry boots like this are nothing innovative really. it might be a more bomber design than you're average touring boot but i'm not sure it's bringing anything new to the table. just look at how many other varieties of that kind of design there are

i think thats the reason why theyre doing the limited availability and kinda keeping them on the down low, so that they sorta spread as an underground thing, building hype, and having more people buy "those icelantic boots nobodys ever seen" over the dalbellos and other big name boots that half the sidecountry crowd has

yeah you;re right. they're gonna have to do some good marketing then. i guess i don't know the origin of the icelantic brand anyways. maybe they're experts at that type of marketing

I can think of at least 3 brands who have tried to rebrand these boots and it has failed every time. However the market is much different now, mainly thanks to the internet.

Even just 10 years ago no one got boots online, you went to a boot fitter, and serious boot fitters never really liked these boots so they never worked.

However now kids like small brands so there is a chance they will do ok. Does this mean they are good, no, but the world has changed and there is a posability that they will sell ok. But I would not think you will see them in many real boot fitting shops.

That right there is a LINE skiboard boot and not an oldschool AT boot.

But yeah, the Icelantic boot is simply a rebranded LINE Transfer boot with cooler upper buckles.

As far as your snowboard boot comment, snowboarders have always used soft boots from the beginning. Boots similar to this are still used on race boards.

demod this boot at winterpark last year... its sick. look at the story behind it, all checks out!
DFP liners are the bees knees. walk mode and adjustability super effective
