Was just chilling and I realized there must be some really fucking rich kids on here so I am interested to see who has the richest? Might be a dumb thread but I don't really care. Post up, claim all you want, it's what this thread is for.

I work for JP morgan so I make a cool 2.3m a year, after taxes. I also get ~500k in bonuses every year. I live alone so I have 7 houses on each continent (yes antarctica) and I only work 10 minutes a day.

that's all i have to contribute. for the record, my actual house is smaller and my parents are not planning on paying my way through my life. i work to make money to pay for skiing gear, food, what not. my parents are not buying me a car, i'm saving through freshman year of college for one (no use in having one until then anyways since i go to boarding school).

we have a really nice summer house because when my parents retire they plan on spending the rest of their lives there as opposed to our actual house.... i don't blame them haha

I used to be rich, my dad making around 500k a year being a radiologist. But, he didn't save and just kept spending. We built a 4 million dollar house in Steamboat, and had the rest of our money invested in stocks, thinking we were set for the rest of our lives. Then everything crashed and at this point we are in debt 1.8 million and if we don't sell our house by November 31st the bank will take it. The lesson to be learned here is save your fucking money.

Why the hate for so called rich kids-they're not rich, they're just kids...! A lot will come from successful families, and will want to aspire to a similar success. If you come from a poor family, rough background, then surely that's enough motivation to change shit up for your life and the life of your kids..... I came from a poor family and decided you only get one shot at life, school etc etc so might as well give it a go and see what happens... It paid off. I will make sure my kids are well looked after - but more importantly that they respect money and work hard to attain some level of success/self sufficiency.

it's one thing for parents to want to provide for their kids, it's another for them to provide for them while making sure their kids respect money and work hard to attain their own.


growing up i was pretty spoiled but through getting my first job, meeting some interesting people, and working to obtain my own money, i've got a newfound appreciation for money and for hard work. started work this summer with 20 hours a week because last summer i slacked off a lot and didn't work for shit, ended this summer working 45+ hours a week, and with great recognition from my boss.

hard work pays in the longrun

My parents didn't want me to not respect money, so they would give me 20 bucks on the first of each month. I'm extremely happy that they did this, because now I don't spend frivolously at all. Only on ebay.

Ok this is gonna come off as arrogant, and none of this wealth is my own but oh well.

My dad is CEO of a company that sells microwave components to HP, Techtronics, Department of Defense, Honeywell, etc. He also has a pretty extensive stock portfolio.

My family also has mineral rights on a large piece of property in North Dakota that has oil underground, and a company is gonna begin drilling there soon, so I'll get some royalties from that.

Sooooo, tech and oil money pretty much sums it up.

theres nothing wrong with being rich if you handle it gracefully. my best friend's father is the president of one of of the largest insurance firms on the east coast, but until i visited his house for the first time i never would have guessed that he or his parents had lots of money. and im talking BIG MONEY. they have lots and lots of houses and cars, but none of it was inherited. my friend has a terrific work ethic and gets great grades because he learned from his father the value of hard work and education.

personally, my family is upper middle class. my college is paid for and i will always be offered a room in my parents house if i need it, but its not like they pay my rent or bought my car for me.

Dude you are still set providing your dad still has his job. Even if you sell the steamboat house for waaayyy under value you will still pay off your debts, plus get a house nicer than mine.

He has a really mediocre job at the moment. Reading x-rays he makes 7 dollars per x-ray. Soon though he is moving to florida temporarily to manage a mammography center so hopefully that should start bringing in some more money
