well you have 2 options:

Tokina 10-17: Fisheye ~$400?

I dont know too much about this lens, but my body has it and he likes it a lot. I'm not big on fisheye

Tokina 11-16: Ultra Wide Angle (no distortion, just wide as fuck) ~$550-600

Beautiful lens, had this on my T2i before i went fullframe. Built with cinema specs or something fancy like that, amazing IQ quality. The best UWA sub-$1000 i believe

i got this on friday from http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170873713456 and i fucking LOVE IT. i was considering getting the tokina 10-17, but i'm so glad i got the 11-16, it's a phenomenal lens. i shot this little thing for shits and giggles with it when i got it (also, Bmo, i used your slider in it!)

and the 14L is 2300, thats like comparing a bmw to a bentley. both are really nice and get the job done very well, but one is made for rich people who like to show off.

First of all, the 12-24 is f4. Second of all, I highly doubt its any sharper than the tokina. And finally, its 100 more dollars than the tokina. The only advantage is that it goes to 24.
