Where to mount K2 Recoils?

I have recently bought a new pair of K2 Recoils.

I have two brands of bindings- Marker Griffon schizo bindings and fks 140's

I like how you can adjust the griffons, that is why I'm very interested in them.
However, the fks 140's will last forever.

The dilemma is that I like to ski all-mountain, however I'm in the park for a substantial amount of time. Should I just center mount the fks's.

Also if you center mount these skis will it take away from its all-mountain versatility.

If you want to ski the recoils for more than a season def put the fks center mounted.

If you really want to keep some all mountain mount go -1

you can't really go wrong if you ask me !

bump b/c I'm curious about this, too -- how do they ski center mounted v. -1? I ski switch a lot but I'm wary of mounting something that's rockered in the center.

you can center mount them. they will ride switch well when u land jumps, but the tail will release differently when u carve, and certainly its more tail than u would maybe desire for all mountain. i would say go -1 or -1.5 to give yourself a little more natural feel. maybe -2 but that would be the farthest i would go back if park is a priority.

I have the 174s center mounted with pivots, and they ski awesome. I find that the centermounted ski helps in the moguls bc its prevents you from leaning back too much like most beggining bump skiers do. Also, about not mounting them center bc of the rocker, the Rocker is symmetrical so center is no problem. They are k2's top of the line park ski after all. Also i feel that mine carve fine center

Center mounting is the past man... that shit just isnt useful anymore on today's skis. IDK what is up with the "factory" mounting options but they are shit and alot of times terribly off (even within a pair). I mounted a ton of these last year and be sure to measure your skis to find true center. When not directed otherwise, i always went -1 or -2 depending on if i felt the person would ever ski switch. And btw symmetrical skis dont ski better backwards, because when skiing switch most of your weight is still on the tips a traditional sidecut is best. Dont believe me...you cant ski switch. Im a big k2 fan, but their biggest drawback, imo, is durability. That said mount those Markers you'll like the +,- feature and when you sell um cause they look like trash, sell the binders with. Keep the fks for something else... like a pair of lib techs nas or something nice.

so if I plan on riding, like, 75% of the time switch (I am at a small MN hill for most of this season, headed back to Hood in the spring/summer) I should go for -1? I've got Look Pivot bindings.

damn.... prob already know that. i like turntable binders are switch skiing. in my mind its safer for backwards falls at speed.

K2 has some of the best durability on the market.. Idk what skis you've been thinking of..

Excuse me? I have never seen a pair of K2's die. K2 is like the zombie of skis, they will be heavy,they might get haggard and dead as a door knob,but they hardly ever reach the point where they are no longer skiable.

And that is why I love K2, they just feel so solid. You just know they aren't going to break prematurely.

I'm also a sucker for their marketing. Picking basicelly all the stept riders? Genius

Core center- The part of the ski where the side cut is thinnest, (if that makes any sense)

True Center- Length of the ski divided by two.

A symmetrical ski will have the same core center and true center.
