Rossignol fks or marker jester?

I was wondering which bindings will be the best for powder and jumps? I have never been on either so I want to know how each one does.

Sorry I ride whitefish mtn and I ski mostly in trees and bowls but will be hitting jumps also and I'm 5'4" and 105

Maybe the griffon is a better option, you dont need a 16 din or a 14 din bini

Here are three super bomber bindings for your size and ability.

Your a bit to light to be going for a 14 din. You can get Any of these bindings with a wider brake.

Why would you chance tearing you ACL on the wrong binding?
Even if the OP is hitting Gnarly shit on Whitefish and Big sky he proably wont have his dins set past 10.


There is no reason have 14 din all metal binding at that size.

OP at 105 (115ish with gear) you don't need a high din binding, you may want to look at

-Salomon STH12 Driver (make sure it's the Driver version not Oversize)
-Rossignol Axial2 120/Look PX12 (link for review below)
-Marker Griffon (See if you can get the one with metal in it I think that's the 10-11 mdoel)

Go for the STH driver. The salomon heel is much easier to put on in the powpow, and I personally think its a better binding than the fks but that's debatable.

I would stay away from marker griffon all together, But that just me.

I'd say get Rossi axial or Salomon STH.

^ Sth 12 Driver will be fine.

Overall there are lots of good bindings, just dont go too high with the Din Range. 12 din bindings will be fine for most skiers, some will need 14's for either weight or ability and even fewer will need a 16 din binding.

STH 12 Driver or Axial 12. This is assuming your only in the park on east coast. If your doing trips out west and hitting cliffs maybe STH14.

Other wise STH 12 or Axial 2

to be honest, I weight 135 and have never had a problem with griffons. I understand where all the hate comes from, as they aren't the most durable binding on the market, but weighing 105 I think you would probably be fine. not to mention they're light as shit...

I was talking about S.Shields question. Hes 145lbs. I think he's in the weight limit for rossi or salomon.

And as for OP using a marker griffon for a binding He would probably be fine. But he's not gonna be just cruising the Hills or hitting park. He's gonna be Hitting mountains in Whitefish, MT.
Thats why I would recommend the Rossi Axial 12 or Salomon STH 12 Driver for OP. Both of these bindings will out last the griffon in my opinion.

The marker griffon is a binding designed to be affordable. The main group of people I see using are occasional skiers or light weight skiers. If I skied maybe less the 4 times a month a wanted a decent setup I would mount them on some skis. But I ski way more than that. Thats why I dont use them. They seem more geared towards a different category of skiers that I dont fall into.

ah my bad. but yeah I agree the griffon probably isn't the best binding, and you make a good point. I fall into that category of lightweight skiers... but from what I've heard and experienced at least there seems to be no doubt that the rossi or salomon would outlast the griffon, thats true. although OP, like everyone's been saying, make sure you get the driver if you go with salomon... I've had some not-so-fun times with the normal sth toepiece. although maybe the more recent models have improved...?

false. the griffon is in the same category as the axial 120 and sth 12. the squire is designed to be affordable the reason why there are more complaints about them is because the griffon is the number 1 selling binding on the market. there are way more griffons on the slopes than sth's, axials, fks's and so on. there's also a lot of people on here and other sights who hate on it because everyone else hates on it. ive been skiing markers for the past 3 yrs and have never had a single issue with them. ive worked at a ski shop for 5 yrs now and i think ive had 2 griffons come in with a legitimate issue. we sent them back to marker and marker replaced them no questions asked.

to the OP, the griffon, axial 120 and sth12 are all bindings that you would be more than happy on. you dont need anything more than that.

I'm 6', 180lbs. Probably close to 200 with all my gear on. I've been riding Griffons for 2 seasons now, +-75 days on that specific binding, and have had absolutely zero problems with them. The Griffin would be a perfectly acceptable binding for any of those kids asking about them.
