1080 60p .mts workflow

I don't know how many of are shooting 1080 60p right now but im sure there are a few and I'm just wondering what your guys' workflow is. I am new to .mts files and I have a system that works right now for getting my .mts to prores 422 and conformed to 24fps but I dont think it is very efficient. If any of you have experience with a solid workflow or know of any good programs or anything that might help I am open to suggestions.

currently i am bringing clips individually into mpeg streamclip because it doesnt like when i batch convert .mts files then after they are in pro res i am conforming them with cinema tools and bringing them into fcp. Its pretty much my exact same work flow that I used when i had a 7D but its just not as quick now.

I feel like ive gone back in time because i felt so comfortable with dslr's and now this stupid .mts is screwing me up.

MTS -> clipwrap to prores 422 LT -> PPCS6 interpret footage if i want slowmo (i love adobe)

why prores if your using premiere?

I mean, what else would I use? AVI LOL im still on a mac and prores is a standard codec used by alot of professionals...

I have no idea i just thought that prores was only native for FCP and not for premiere

Yes, but there are issues. If you saw the post a few weeks ago, macs have issues with mts and gamma levels, so without modifying with CC (which is easy but annoying) they'd be crushed images. Also, I like having my raw MTS and my Prores too. Prores an easy codec to use and everyone who's anyone uses it.

does anybody know why cinema tools would be rejecting all of my files when i go to conform them after. Also Evan is there a way to do a batch conform sort of thing for slow motion in PPCS5.5 that I could then use in fcp?

send the clips you want to conform through mpeg streamclip to prores again. i dunno why it doesnt work. i stopped conforming and editing in a 60p timeline

yeah I mean, if I was going to use cinema tools, i would just convert with clipwrap then id start editing and then when i wanted a slow shot, find the shot, then send it through mpeg again and then cine tools. On the plus side, you'd have a full speed 60p shot and a conformed 24p shot.

I essentially did the same thing when i shot my hvx, because in FCP you had a tool that would convert frame rates for DVCPROHD files (aka hvx p2 files). It works quite well.
