Bindings

Hey guys just wanted to ask what bindings I should get. Pretty much have a general idea just want to make the right choice. I'm 5'5" and about 120 lbs. I am really not very good at park but I'm very committed and really making an effort to try new things on the trampoline this summer. I'd say I'm an intermediate skier and skiing some groomers but again mostly in the park. I'm 14 so I might grow. So far I'm thinking STH 12 Drivers or STH 10's. I"ve done research and after owning markers, I'm not getting any.

Definately the 12s...will last much longer, and have a higher din if you need them to

STH salomon 12 or Rossi Axial 12.

either of these bindings will be perfect for you. They will last for a very long time. Probably 4-6 years with proper care.

Get the Rossignol Fks 14s. They are the best binding and will last you forever. They are a great park binding and super durable. They are also on sale right now @ skis.com. $100 off I think

This, make sure you get the STH12 Driver the Driver toe is far superior. The Axial2 120/PX12 is also a quality binding check the review of the Axial2 120 in my blog.

Dude its great if you love that binding. But dont go running around on every binding thread recommending it. FKS/pivot  140 is a heavy duty, heavy weight binding.

The FKS system is Gnarly. Most bindings are designed to let go on a spill. FKS is designed to stay till last possible moment so you can recover. Thats why big mnt skier use the FKS. It lets you keep the ski on longer than any other binding.

The kid even said he's a beginner and light weight. Why would you recommend something like that for him? A kid his size could even go to a 10 din and it would last him a couple seasons or till he gets bigger.

My point: You shouldn't be recommend a binding that significantly out of someones level. Its great you want to help people and make recommendations but you need to make them more realistic. FKS 140 is a $300 binding. What Beginner will buy a $300 binding for a entry level park ski?

 A better question is What beginner or even advanced skier needs the FKS 140 or any other metal binding?

Get the 12 drivers, a lot more durable and higher quality, and you wont grow out of them in a season. Also i dont really understand everyones hate for markers, i have two pairs of griffons (as well as some Pivot 14s) and i have never had any durability issues with them . IMO i think they are the best buy for the money.
