If you really care about school, you won't have time for much else; I would suggest going somewhere other than Boulder.

UCSB is a bullshit school, have you ever been to Isla Vista, the town UCSB is in? Place is dirtier than Berekeley and that is saying something.

And it's not even that close to skiing if that is what you're going for.

Although for partying and dirty sluts it's a great school.

A degree from Boulder is definitely not worthless

not true at all, you can get a 4.0 and still party like crazy, its all just priorities.

if you take 15 credits that 15 class hours a week roughly even if you have 30h extra work/studying/reports a week that's only 45 hours a week-less than what the average full time person works.

End except for finals and maybe midterms not sure who spends 30h a week doing extra work. 

at one pt i was taking 20+ credit and still having 4.5 days off a week

Just because it has a reputation as a party school, doesn't mean CU isn't a good school.

but of course, it depends on your major. For science/engineering, CU is fantastic. Other stuff..less so.

Why not Utah. If you're going into business they have a better business school than any of those (I'm pretty sure) and is closer than any of those to skiing

Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude, Park City, Deer Valley and Canyons. Plus you got Snogression and the rail garden and TONS of urban from Ogden down to Sandy.

out of your list I would suggest DU, definitely the best business school on there.

School is what you make of it. If you want to go to a great school with a great reputation you can. But its going to be your choice on how much you engage yourself within the curriculum. Just because you go to a great school doesn't mean you can't dick around and learn nothing.

Also, if you go to a school with a lower reputation, you still have all the resources to learn as much as you want about what you want.

I am talking from personal experience. I went to DU for awhile and now I'm almost done at CU after transferring here sophmore year. Your education is your responsibility and no one elses. The school matters somewhat but at the end of the day its about how you engage yourself during your time at college.

I'll be honest, I didn't care for DU too much. All the same type of kids went there and it was really really exspensive. Plus the school makes you live in the dorms for two years and are super strict about drinking/smoking in your room. I decided to leave DU after I got in trouble for drinking one Blue Moon in the dorms. I got written up, had to write a two page paper to my parents, and then proceeded to have to go to a meeting with the school counselors over one beer. Talk about a waste of time and resources. I have better things to be doing at age 20 then being treated like an infant.

Now I go to CU. The education is pretty much the same as it was at DU. Some classes are bigger that I have been in, but that's not something I find important. Small classroom settings are nice since there is more engagement, but at the same time you can learn the same amount in a large class as long as you study. I have been in both 8 person classes and 150 person lecture classes at CU. CU is a great place. There are a ton of hiking trails nearby as well as a bike park and numerous other outdoor activities. Additionally, there are all sorts of people here. I have found Boulder to have a huge spectrum of people, which I find very interesting. It's always nice to refresh your perspective by talking to someone who has a totally different background and view on life. Also, if you like to party, CU is the place. There's always someone to party with and the bars are close by. Everything is close by actually so I rarely use my car unless I'm getting groceries. Boulder is extremely bike friendly and you can practically get anywhere with a bike.

There's my two cents, do your own research, know what you want, and go the school that has what your looking for. As I said though, education is relatively the same across all higher learning institutions and all that matters is how YOU apply yourself.

^^^^ College is definitely what you make it. I have only been here a week, I have had some shitty days but the good days make up for the bad. At least in my experience. School is honestly how much effort u want to put into in. Its all decisions, you can do whatever the fuck you want whenever you want and no one literally cares at all.

I would go to Richmond or Miami if you want a business degree, they both have great programs

Don't listen to this. My roommate is an engineer and I am a science major, and while yes you have to bust your ass off during the week, but if you play your cards right you will still have plenty of time to enjoy the "college lifestyle". Oh and if you pick an easier major you will be able to go out like 4 times a week if you wanted to.

+K for that response....yah I would choose CU over DU but I know it ultimately comes down to my work ethic......its just hard to pick between a school like boulder which is so fun and sick or a better academic school where I might not have as good of a time

Please elaborate? Thats definitely not true. I visited and it was nothing like that. Im leaving for my freshman year at DU on the 1st.

And to bloom, it depends on your RA right? When I visited last spring i visited a freshman and we drank and played loud music in the dorm on a wednesday night... didn't seem too strict

college near ski resorts would be awesome

go to the school that costs the least. experience becomes way more important than where you graduated from.

just keep your grades up and learn something that really interests you. don't waste your parent's money and if you're taking loans, save yourself some money.

Pick Miami University. #9 party school in the nation, and an even higher ranked business school; #6 public B-school in the nation. Every day I see a different hottest girl I have ever seen. I hate that gay saying, "work hard, play hard", but it's true here.

Our business school building is f*****g sweet, only like 5 years old. A degree from this place carries a lot of weight, and most grads land jobs pretty quickly.

^ Miami U is a great place but it is filled with a lot of rich, snobby kids from columbus/cinci. While its a great school, really don't like a lot of the kids that go there. Now that is from an outside perspective just from heading there on a couple weekends and I'm sure you could find a chill niche, but overall it gave me a yale type feel
