Hello my fellow newschoolers. I just went Skating for the first time today. It was very fun but at the end i fell on my elbow jumping down a 5 stair. I was just wondering, do you think it is worth it to get elbow pads and knee pads? Do people think that looks bad (i dont care about looking bad i would rather be protected.) So what im asking is good idea or bad do other Rollerbladers look down upon it?
Cheers,
Baloo

I always wear wrist guards and a helmet cause I'm a retard and fall. If you are stepping up to big stuff and want to lessen the damage on your body wear full pads. It's better to be safe than be injured even if people are laughing at you.

Usually when I'm just messing around in my driveway I don't wear a helmet but at the skatepark I wear a helmet but no other pads because I don't care about other parts of my body as much as my head I would rather have a broken arm than a gnarly concussion haha.

i wear nothing, but if you're learning a helmet is good, just take them falls like a man.

part of my skatepark has a mini bowl and it's really fun to just do little stalls and grinds for extended periods of time. Get confortable on coping, because it's kinda sketchy. Also start trying some sole grinds, for me they're fucking hard still but the sooner you learn them the more grind/stall variations you can do.
