Another stupid ski question.

Will the surface live life 2 be the right ski for me? They are the ones on the far left of this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31301567@N07/2930200743/in/photostream/

I'm 14. 5'4" and weigh 110lbs

I would use this ski as my go-to powder ski in the park city, UT area. Was just wondering if this ski would be too stiff, soft, wide, long for me. I'm getting the 179 because they have the 3 stage rocker.

Ill be hitting cliffs, pillows, deep snow, some trees, just wherever the pow is. Ill do some steep and deep as well.

Will this be a good ski for me?

Live life is a pretty rocking ski. 179 is also a good size. I will say this they are a stiff ski. They are also not the most playful ski in the world, they will do fine for cruising and going fast and some more spaced trees but if you want to jib, play, slash, slarve, and have a little more fun then just the traditional go down the mountain I would look elsewhere. If you are determined to stick with surface I would go with the one life way more playful. Great powder ski.

Just to clarify im talking about the live life 2. Its not as stiff as the normal live life and it has the 3 stage rocker and no camber underfoot.

im not sure if you know but the LL2 is the same as the one life just a few years older..

if you're comfortable with a slightly longer ski then go with the live life 2 for sure! they seem awesome from what I've heard! but keep the long size in mind, it will make trees a little harder. Hope this helps!!

I think... the Live Life 2 was flat underfoot and the One Life got camber. The LL2 may also be slightly softer but I can't remember.
If you are getting an amazing deal get the LL2 but just so you know, you can get both last years One Life and New Life off of the surface store for $300 new at the moment.
174 New Life would be better than 179 One Life/LL2 for you in my opinion.

yeah like i said no hate i just think they would be hard to handle and not be as much fun but ive never had pow sticks so

Well if you've never had powder skis, than you shouldn't be one to judge when it comes to sizing. For OP, look into the One Life, it's just newer and improved. I had the ski, I loved it. Stiff, floats amazing in powder, rather stable when it comes to skiing steeps and you know how to stay on top of your skis. The skis aren't too wide at all, perfect for ripping through everything. With the rocker, it doesn't have the most running surface. Still perfect for everything. Especially a 179 for your size

Generally you want to ski rockered pow skis quite a bit longer than you would a fully cambered park ski. I'm on 181 pipe cleaners for my park ski (I'm 5'11" 145 lbs), and I'll probably be riding some 191 caylors, 192 chetlers, 190 gypsies, or 189 pettitors as my pow ski (hard choice), and wouldn't really want to be on anything much shorter. You're going to need the extra surface area for float and stability; the rocker will make a pow ski more manuverable than a similar length cambered ski.

You might want a ski with more rocker, like some K2s, or a wider ski, but I think those would ski fine, just not as well as something else

The ll2's have tons of rocker (more than most). I believe it is 7 degrees if i remember right... and @llambert thanks for the info i know they are long im only getting them longer because they have rocker so there is less ski making contact with snow so they are actually as snappy as normal sized skis. The rule is u add 10mm to your regular ski length.

No, although they are 179, they run small. Just make sure you can keep ontop of yourself, and you'll be fine.

Like they said, go larger. You will grow into them, and they will ski short. I am 511, 185 and I have the 186 Opus, I wish I had the 192? even though I am on the EC.
