"Mile End" is the neighborhood in Montreal where my sister resides and hence my residence for the summer. The streets are quiet except for the orthodox children running and playing with each other. Occasionally two cats fight in the alleyway or the rain pours down on the wooden deck, but the summer was filled with sunny days and frequent bike rides.
Good people and good coffee is the story of my summer. Despite not drinking coffee to begin with, Cafe Myriade opened up the complex, modern world of the ancient beverage and gave me an elitist tongue for the stuff. A great cup of coffee is not something that comes everyday, neither is having the best sister who loves you enough to give you a world class job, awesome support, and still puts up with your couch living.
Notable quotes:
"I don't give a fuck about the police, I don't give a fuck about anyone around us. If you don't delete that right now I swear I will smash your face into this sidewalk."
"How do you survive? You have to know french to work here..."
"Don't ever drink a bad cup of coffee."
"I'll have a piccolo filter, please."
