LDC Wolfgang Jacket vs Orage B-Dog Jacket

About to buy a new jacket for the upcoming season. I cant decide between the Wolfgang and the B-Dog jacket. I live in Wisconsin so when it's not spring skiing it's pretty damn cold. Of course the B-Dog jacket will be much warmer considering it's not a shell, but this is where I come to a dilemma. The B-Dog jacket has NO vents, besides the removable sleeves, and since I don't alway want to be rocking the vest it's going to get pretty toasty while spring skiing. Or I guess I could just by a sweatshirt and wear that, but then there's no waterproofing. Also it's only 10k/10k which is pretty poor for a $320 jacket.

As far as the Lethal Wolfgang jacket goes, I had one last year. The durability was so/so. Did they change the construction at all? I wasn't always the biggest fan of layering but it's better than having no option at all for cooling down (besides the sleeves) like the B-dog. This jacket also is cheaper too, I'll pay $80 less than the B-Dog because I plan on buying LDC pants too. The rating on this jacket is 20k/20k which is far superior to the B-dog for a lot less.

B-Dog Pros: Super warm, look super sick.
Cons: No vents besides removable sleeves, only 10k/10k for $320.

Lethal Wolfgang Pros: 20k/20k, nice vents, save money
Cons: Don't like the look as much, concerned on durability.

Which jacket will be the better choice?

If I were in your shoes, I would go with the Wolfgang for a few reasons

-LDC is such a righteous company and you should support them
-it's made of wicked durable material, if you have felt last year's then you understand, it's a non-problem
-I think the bdog fits kind of goofy :p
-more bang for your buck, the 20k v. 10k kind of seems like a no brainer to me
-resale value, you are not going to get anywhere near what you paid for with the bdog because they come out with one every year, everyone would be down to buy LDC

But you'll be the one rocking it so it's up to you!!

It's your decision, but the Wolfgang does seem more practical. The B-Dog is a very thick, heavy jacket which is the last thing you want living in a place with variable conditions. I do not know about the durability of LDC, but it definitely looks like they've stepped up their game this year.

The construction has indeed changed on the Wolfgang for this year:

First, the new sleeve design makes it a much more comfortable fit while really wrapping around your shoulders to create less of a boxy fit.

Also if you had any problems with the velcro last year that has been fixed by doing a perimeter stitch as well as a cross stitch to really hold it on there

Also the shipping date will be pretty early again this year and the pants are the bomb

My main problem along with having one of the pockets rip. I forgot to mention that I had the Tonic jacket from 2 years ago not last years. I'm going to go with the full LDC suit.

Use the 80 and get a vest on here for 40 bucks, get a puffeh, same look and feel.

yeah buy my 4xl rust puffeh for $40! ;)

but seriously LDC is the way to go, i'm not a fan of puffy jackets. much rather layer a shell.

They only changed fit is of the XL Team, the other sizes are the same. The XL Team isn't like the XLT on the China or Tonic line. It's the exact same fit as the OG Redux but with the amazing new quality.

An old fit with new materials, something Saga should take a note of. I know they appear tapered in the photos but even the guys at LDC don't know why that is, they are NOT tapered

Also looking at the B-Dog and didn't want to make another thread. I ski Manitoba Canada, temps during most of the season are usually around -15C and usually it seems to be on the colder side of that. Basically looking for a warm long cut jacket. Can anyone speak from experience as to how warm the b-dog is? Do the sleeves on next years b-dog zip off so that its a vest for those warmer days? Either going to be getting a B-Dog or a Wiley Miller Anomie.

Sizing? I'm 5'10" and 135 lbs. What size for both jackets? I don't want it to be super hoodrat but I do want the skirt of the jacket to extend beyond the cuff of the sleeves. Thanks, +k for legitimate answers!

different materials make outerwear fit, feel ans sit different when wearing it. some materials dont have structure so the fall and hang, others do so the stand up and have a different shape. you can make the same outerwear fit and sizing and use a different better material but it will fit differently. thats what saga has taken note of.

If I want my pants to look like ahmets below in the video i post (2:13) should I go with XL or XLT? I'm 6' foot on the dot. See how they're sagged a lot without being super wide? XL?
Btw it's with the XLT jacket. Listen to me asking for fashion advice on NS:)

if youre 6' tall its not likely that anyone will ever make pants that are too tall for you. so that means xl could be good but theres no way xlt will be too big. and if you want them to be baggy then its probably safer to go with the xlt. logic

I have a 2013 B-Dog, go LDC. Better waterproofing and stronger material, but not as warm (but you can always layer)
