The squire is a performance KIDS (or youth) binding. Lots of DIN and a scaled-down format of a fairly good adults binding makes for a pretty decent lightweight binding, as long as you're the size of a kid as well. Although an adult boot will clip in just fine, I always cringe when I see adults skiing on them. They're a kids binding, through and through. The materials and design just aren't made for the impacts a binding will take from a bigger rider. Even though the DIN goes relatively high, it's the forces that the binding is intended to transmit rather than release you (rolling forces i.e. putting the ski on edge, fore/aft movement) that will break them. Seriously, the "pylon" on the toepiece is like 1cm square, made of plastic.
