Staying hydrated

Hey newschoolers. Our sport involves a lot of sweating and muscle activity even though we may not notice it a whole lot. I usually get headaches after a long day of skiing most likely from being dehydrated. My question is what do YOU do to stay hydrated while on the mountain. Camel backs are cool and all but they aren't really a park skiers first choice. I'm going out west next winter and am nervous about the altitude and water loss. Let's hear it!

i usually stash it right at the top of the park if its like above 25 and if its colder I usually just go inside and grab a drink/warm up every hour or two

just go inside and either get a cup of water from the snack area or use a drinking fountain. you'll be fine

I used this thing for like half a season, and got it replaced on warranty. 750 ml maximum, and fits perfectly in the knee Saga pocket while skiing. Rolls up nice n flat. Got it for 5 bucks in change.

I always get hella dry mouth while skiing, especially on pow days it comes in handy.

I normally just bring a gallon jug and leave it at the top of the park. Kinda a pain to get up when you don't have a pack, but it's worth it

As others have said, I just bring a gallon jug or large water bottle and shove it in the snow at the top of the park.

usually i down a ton of water before i go up the mountain but then i have to piss a ton. i might try a camelbak this year but im worrid of landing on it and then have a fucking hurricane on my back.

Those hydration bags are made of some high strength polymer - suppose to be able to withstand a car driving over it.

I bring a water bottle or two every time I go, first run I will plant them somewhere, be it in the park or near some trees if I feel like skiing somewhere else. People usually don't touch or fuck with your shit (especially water bottles that have been used) and if they do it really only happens in the park for myself, which is weird- I just assume there would be more respect there than in other parts.

i dont get dehydrated on my local mountain because its a small dinky little place and you can easily go to the chalet. but when i went to whistler, i wasn't prepared whatsoever. the first day i got dehydrated and it was awful.. the second day i brought my packsack with my camelbak which was kinda annoying cause it was bouncing around. the third day i didn't bring it and i just stopped at the chalets around the mountain. just find out what works for you!

definitely the drink bottle at the top or bottom of the park. or anywhere you can easily ski to and from on any given lap. also drinking water before you start helps a lot.

the ski patrol at our resort puts out a fake water fountain at the top of one of our lifts and sits their watching it, and when people go to take a drink they just tell them that the water is coming from an underground well so it takes a little bit to get the the fountain and they see how long people will sit their and wait for the water to come up

assuming your old and shriveled you may need a camelback. but one way to get some water is fill up the biggest cup in the lodge with ice, then fill it to the brim with boiling water (most resorts have a tank of these) and you got instant water..prefect temp with a little bit of ice.

All i can say is drink as much water as you can right when you get off of your plane.Well if you live currently at sea level or else you'll probably get some terrible head aches and your stomach will feel like shit. Even if you aren't thirsty just keep drinking water. After two/ most likely three days you should be fine and not have to worry about drinking so much water. The down fall to it all how ever is that you'll have to piss like under every hour haha. And do what those other people said by just leaving a gallon of water at the lift/park some where, so that every lap you can take a quick drink of it.
