honestly, i agree with you. what happened happened, and there's no way of knowing if not dropping the bombs would've killed thousands of more american soldiers. but the fact of the matter is, we did, and because of that, the world knew how powerful the U.S. was and how much destruction those bombs could cause. on a lighter note, the dropping of the bombs have been something that the world can look back on and use as a crutch to decide if we really want to annihilate eachother.
pertaining to your last sentence, i also agree. as i mature i suddenly begin to realize things, mainly of the existential theme. i can't find a reason why humans feel the need to constantly one up each other not only on a small scale, but also on a larger one. is there an overall goal that we are trying to reach? or are we just climbing an endless ladder of self destruction and hatred. to put it plainly, i really see no point to the world's bullshit. as pessimistic as it sounds i feel that i'm pretty much just floating through life, waiting for death.
