I'm probably way off here but how come there are no lenses like this in say canon's lens lineup? They have the 24-300 but that's 3.5-5.6, I always thought that since it wasn't consistent aperture it must be impossible to get sharp images at the same aperture through such a huge zoom range.

am i the only one that is seriously tempted by the x100/s? looks like such a fun camera to shoot with and small enough to take almost anywhere. a real shame that the manual focus ring is such garbage on the non s model. i'm thinking of selling my less used lenses to pick one up and try some street photography with and just mess around and make hipster shit that will surely make girls want my d.
i know i should probably just buy an actual rangefinder but i'm just not ready for film yet.

Fuji is absolutely killing it right now. An X-Pro or X100(s) are the only digital camera's I'll consider buying.
The X100s is going to be the best digital street photography cam on the market. Such a beauty.

Glad I'm not the only one! I'd love to try that fixed 23/2, force me to stop relying on zoom and get more creative. Apparently the built in flash is a beauty for fill light as well, god damn I want one.

Then buy primes... I've always only shot with primes. I have a 70-210 Vivitar Series 1 zoom now (Kiron made) which is pretty amazing. Great for landscape stuff. I'm starting to care less about IQ than before, so I'm actually considering buying a good zoom (70-200).

d7000's coming tomorrow, If I'm honest even if the d7100 was the same price as the d7000 I'm not sure I'd take it, there's just too many disadvantages for pretty much just the 720p60 as an advantage.
