I Need Help Fixing My Old Full Tilts (Pictures Included)

Hey guys, I've got a pair of very old Full Tilt Camo's (essentially the same as the original bumblebees, just differently colored) that I've ridden for about 5 years now and are desperately in need of some TLC. I've busted the middle buckle on the left boot so that it won't really tighten much anymore:

That little hook thingy sticks up all the time. I know you can buy new buckles online, but I have no idea how to install them on to the boots. Here's a more zoomed out photo of the buckle:

As you can see, the buckles are not held on by screws like today's full tilts, but are instead fastened down by some sort of bolt:

Here's a picture of what these bolt things look like on the inside of the boot:

I have no idea how to take these things off, or how I would refasten them once I try to install the new buckle. Does anybody have any experience fixing these sort of boots or any ideas of how I might go about this?

It looks like it's been riveted in, your best bet is probably going to be to drill it out, but then installing the modern buckles might need some extra parts to get it to fit properly.

I would take it to a shop. It looks like too much work if you don't know what to do

Yep if you dont know how to get the rivots out just take them to a shop.

Its a fairly easy job, most brands of boots use rivots rather then screws to attach buckles so any decent boot shop will be able to drill out the rivots, fit the new buckle then either rivot it or screw it in place.

It is easy to screw up your shells, trying to take out the rivots so if you have not got experience doing it, dont try.

10/10 to all I'll order the part off FT's website and take it in to a shop I'm guessing I don't have the requisite tools to trill it out and install a new one. Thanks a lot!

Drill the rivet out and replace the rivet with an appropriately sized T-nut.

Put a dab of lock tight on the threads so they don't back out as well.

so apparently they were riveted back then.

drill out all the rivets that you're going to need to replace with t-nut/screws.

order buckle kits from your local shop. they come with the appopriate buckle and all the mounting hardware you are going to need.
