Dyeing snow pants

HOW DO I GET WHITE PANTS BLACK

1 put matress in pants. 2 put pants in pool. 3 put dye in pool. 4 ??????? 5 profit?

Use RIT dye. It's pretty much the only way you will get the white to be blue, its effective, but i've also heard it can take away the waterproofing, although i don't believe that that is correct. Don't hold me to that though

i dont know how well it would work beccause the waterproofing is supposed to repel water, and thus would just repel the dye. and it could turn out splotchy because areas with more wear, and thus weaker waterproofing, would take the dye more than some other areas

I wouldn't do it if they are your only pair, my buddy did it to his and they turned out looking like shit. If they are your backups give it a shot or if you dont mind looking like a gapper with f-ed up pants. But that could be the new style if you make it look good while rocking them.

I dyed a rain coat the other day with black rit dye. Originally, it was a god awful salmon pink.The jacket was 100% nylon, and waterproof as well. Specifically, it was Columbia's omni-tec, which is similar to Goretex. Even with a whole bottle of black dye, it ended up a dark blue/purple color. I also noticed a significant change in its texture(lots of wrinkles / no longer smooth), and I'm pretty sure it may no longer be waterproof. It also shrunk. On the plus side, now I have a jacket I'll actually wear without looking like a naked mole rat. I might try to dye it again with iDye Poly, which is designed more specifically for synthetic material. If this is your only pair of snowpants, I might wait. However, if you really want a change, go for it. I'd say keep it simple though. ****** Also, a lot of snowpants have a polyester shell. Dyeing Polyester is nearly impossible, if not completely.
