wzrd was a bust if you were hoping for a hip hop album, I'll admit. still a good CD and better than most hip hop/alternative albums (lil waynes rebirth anyone?). but yeah my favorite part of this track is that he produced it. nothing makes me happier than self produced rappers.
So glad to see him rap again! It also said he was featuring Kanye, Chip tha ripper, Kendrick Lamar, MGMT, Ratatat, and some other names. So it sounds like he's trying to get back to his old stuff.
This post confuses me, because now you're just going to have a thread for an artist you don't like pop up in your threads all the time.
But on the topic of the new song, I'm definitely stoked on it. The album is going to be tight.
And on the topic of WZRD, I thought it was good but not great. Nothing stood out really and there wasn't anything that made you want to listen to it more than a few times.
To me, Kid Cudi's always been one of those "hit or miss" kind of artists if you understand me. Some of his stuff is shit, some of its good, you just have to listen to it to find out. My favorite by him was always "Alive", "The Prayer" was also good, a lot off of his first album was good, I will say most of his second album was shit.
i dont understand this at all.. he's completely consistent. he has a consistent approach to his raps. he isn't lil wayne who starts as a gangster, then turns skater when it gets cool, then claims to be a blood when he can. thats a hit or miss artist, he changes to please the fans and so his stuff either hits or misses and the stuff that hits he sticks with and the stuff that misses is forgotten. his second cd is great? the only thing it was missing in my opinion was a song produced by kanye or another cameo by a good music artist (common, big sean, cyphi, mos def, or pusha). it really didnt have a song that was impossible to listen to imo.
