A few torrenting questions

Search barred and got really nothing. I may get a bunch of obnoxious responses saying its the same in America or blah blah blah, I personally don't know if companies look more here or there...anyways as the thread title states, torrenting in Germany safe? I got two notices from my provider back in america of copyright infringement, then I started using demonoid before it got shut down, and just wanted to know would I be better off or worse here, and if not, anything to help protect IP,etc. I don't know much about torrents except for click, click, and boom its downloading, so any other information would be useful.

yes windows 7, I'll get a mac upon return to college, I've heard mixed reviews on peerblock saying its shit or that it works, also...I've heard setting your seeding to 0 is a way, but I use bitcomet and it doesn't let me go lower than 10, I've also heard you can set it to 0 only on macs. All things I've "heard" so if someone could clarify that would be nice.

I think there are some applications that can hide your IP so they cant track you. But I'm not to sure about them. Maybe someone else on here knows. My friend torrents lots of stuff and has gotten multiple things in the mail threatening him and telling him to stop but he thinks they wont actually do anything and they are just trying to scare him off. As for germany I'm not sure how torrenting is there I would believe its the same.

yeah most of it is bullshit...but I'm living with a family here and would really like to avoid a notice coming in the mail, my mom would get pissed for like 3 minutes then forget it. I would assume so too, just want clarification if anyone could give it.

i'm going to ignore the butthurt PC users in this thread and help you out instead, OP.
settings seeds to 0 won't help, you're still connected to the swarm as a leech so 'they' will see you. and yes i have also heard mixed reviews about peerblock but has been successful in my experience.
any particular reason why you're using bitcoment?

im not going to sit here and claim that i'm an expert on international laws, but if i was to guess, the german copyright laws would be much more lax than those found in capitalist america.

peerblock
if you can find another one, you could run it through both proxies. that would definitely cover your tracks

I havent heard of any issues coming out of germany. If you can get onto a private tracker that would be optimal. Public trackers are known to have embedded files within the actual movie that will track your ip. Most of the free programs dont work anymore regardless of what people tell you.
