U of O is rad. Eugene is a pretty awesome town. Academics are not great but it's not a bad school by any means. I think it's a good balance of partying and academia. It's not Stanford, but it's also not Chico State.
Also I don't know how you feel about greek life, but I advise everyone I know coming into college to check it out, will increase the amount of fun you have here quite a bit. I was not considering it at all out of high school but I quickly changed my mind.
Eugene is about 2 hours 45 minutes from both hood and bachelor, unless it's snowing then it's about 3 and a half, Oregon drivers are absolutely pathetic. I think you can get to the ocean in Florence in about an hour, and Portland is about an hour 45.
"How are the academics and campus?"
1) If you've ran there several times, you'd clearly know what the campus was like.
2) Just because you can run doesn't mean an Ivy League school is going to accept you, unless your a huge prospect, your grades will have to be far superior than all the other runners to get in.
