What up NS, I am currently in the process of buying new skis. I am 6'3 180 pounds and I feel the step ups will support me the best in my hunt for the gnar. Ideally I would like to purchase these bad boys, the 2011 step ups http://www.evo.com/outlet/skis/line-stepup-2011.aspx#image=33263.Size.LengthCM_184_Image.jpg, but I have a question about them compared to my second choice in ski which is the 2012s http://www.evo.com/outlet/skis/line-step-up.aspx#image=43161.Size.LengthCM_166_Image.jpg. My questions are 1. I want these skis to be fast as fuck so do the 2011's have race base or is that just the 2012's and does race base really even matter that much.
2. It says the 2012 have a beefier edge and seeing as though I am a pretty big guy I don't want to be chipping my edges off within the first couple of weeks so will that make a difference?
