RUSTING EDGES evn after cleaning, help plz

Yeah so I come in after a days (artificial) snow skiing at. Snowplanet, and I clean down my skis until they are dry. Next morning I go out to see rust all down the edges....it comes off, but it's really annoying iPad it can't be good for the edges. Is there chemicals in the artificial snow that causes this or what? Thanks

there probaly is chemicals in the artifical snow to make it last longer but i really dont know why they rusted if u completely dried them

clean the rust off with steel wool then store in dry place inside that is insulated. not in the garage

should i wax them more, cause i hardly wax them at all. and some people chuck em in the shower and then dry them, is that algoods?

There are chemicals in the artificial snow at indoor places that will rust edges. Spraying them down with a hose and wiping down the edges with a towel will help and waxing more will help keep the skis in generally better shape. I personally don't use steel wool because it's considerably more abrasive and can cause pitting. Go to a ski shop buy a soft gummy stone. This can usually get the rust off and not take that much edge with it. Also has the added benefit of dulling and smoothing your edges which can help prevent edge cracks.

C.R.L is used to remove rust and strengthens metal good for edges. dip a towel and dip in crl then rub on were the rust is to try to remove most of the rust then try to leave the towel on the rust spot all night then you should have rust free better edges. it helps to keep rust off too!. also good if you have a trampoline you take you springs off and dip them in a bucket of C.R.L over night. then the next morning put them on and you have twice the pop!

Yeah good for industrial metal and household. Do not use for ski edges. The residual chemicals eat wax and base so I would not use this to de-rust your edges.
